Inspired Wisdom For Your Life

BACK TO INDEX

June 11, 2026

• Accept the pathways others are on even though not right for you.

You pray to God, and God listens. You pray to your guides, and your guides listen. You seek growth, understanding, a keener vision of the heart. We would like to speak more extensively about vision.

We have spoken in the past about heart vision and what it is, what we mean by it when we use those terms, heart and vision. But what is most important is not merely an understanding of what is meant by vision but rather how that vision applies to your life.

At this stage in human life, there is not a scarcity of information. You have within you the capabilities to learn with others who share your own perceptions. That is both good and oftentimes unproductive, for when you direct your pathway toward those in agreement, you can easily lose sight of the context, the broader perspective within which your views reside. Surrounding yourself by others in full agreement is like speaking in an echo chamber, for you only hear what resembles your own voice, your own vision. You may feel strongly that your heart vision leads you to pursue specific actions, but an important part of the human experience is to become immersed more broadly into the perspectives of those whose orientations are different from yours.

If you think of the purely human understanding of vision through your eyes, you realize the importance of peripheral vision that gives meaning and helps you to move through a particular scene or location. Imagine if your physical vision was so narrow that your angle of view was only a few degrees. You would see clearly within that limited view and might feel firmly convinced or assured of the rightness of where you are headed, but when your vision expands peripherally, your goals actually take on greater clarity. The real clarity of your vision comes not from a narrow view but from a view of extraordinary width and depth in all directions. It is precisely this approach that is so important as you seek a deeper, more meaningful heart vision. Your heart vision is not directed to a narrow view or limited perspective. It takes on a vison where the relationship between various components provides even greater clarity in the direction of your journey.

You are living your physical life in the midst of considerable turmoil, and in your wish to come through the perceived chaos and destruction, you can often be too quick to grab onto something that seems for the moment to be a kind of salvation. Giving deeper meaning to the life you are given requires a willingness to become aware in rather profound ways of the perspectives and understandings of others.

If you wish a closer relationship with your neighbor, it is important to know what is meaningful to that person, what motivates that person, what another’s hope or fears are, what in that person’s life generates pain as well as joy. The more you know about that person, the easier it becomes to understand how you and the other are really the same. If all you are aware of is what you observe in another at some distance, you have no understanding of that person from the depth that is necessary to truly embrace their equality.

We see much tension between societies, nations, and ideologies. Much of that tendency to demonize, separate, and ostracize is based not on what is seen but is more motivated by the lack of what can be seen. If you find yourself in strong opposition to others, it is for you to broaden your view, your vision, of another. If you don’t approve of the actions of someone, unless you accept that those actions exist not in a vacuum but as a consequence of other issues, you cannot fully embrace another.

We are not suggesting that you analyze, so to speak, what you feel to be the reasons behind the actions of others but rather to broaden your vision to acknowledge that those actions have their own sense of justification. They may not be a justification that you relate to, but in the eyes of another, there is full justification.

So often we say that you cannot stand in the shoes of another, and it is for that reason that we also say you cannot fully understand the motivations and justifications that gird the actions and opinions of others. You are asked merely to acknowledge that as human beings they feel motivated to act as they are going to act, to believe as they are going to believe, based on their own personal history.

You are a part of a kind of fulfillment of your own history. As you change your perspectives, as you change your vision, your history also changes and your perspective will change. You are where you are in your spiritual understanding based in large part on where you were. If you were to remove your own personal history, you would not be where you are. This can be said to be true for all people.

Part of the counseling of the lives of others is for them to integrate, to connect, their past to their present, because in reality, as we have said before, there is no real time. There is a now. What is exists because of all else that is from a human perspective. You are who you are because of all you have been. To understand your life, it is most helpful to know something of the journey, the pathway you have traveled on.

Your vision of your own life depends significantly on a kind of peripheral vision of your whole life to this moment. As difficult and complicated as it may be, and as filled with countless layers that belong to unraveling your own life, it is as difficult and as complex to unravel the layers in the life of another.

So, for that figurative neighbor, you can be open to a greater understanding of another, but for that relationship to flourish, it suffices to admit your view of another as one who is filled with his or her own history and all that that implies. When you perceive the tensions between religions, cultures, and nations, these tensions are all predicated on the reality of what is not known, even though they are a direct response to those few degrees of vison that are present for them.

You are asked always to find ways of embracing even those with whom you disagree with a loving acceptance that they are where they are on their pathway. They are part of a process. They are part of a broad reality of existence that includes within it far more than you can perceive or learn of.

Heart vision, therefore, is not a clarity brought by a laser-thin view of all that exists around you. Rather that heart vison is a provision of context for what that laser view might actually mean. You are always asked to love one another, but that means loving the reality that others are where they must be just as you are where you must be. You’re not in a wrong place. You are part of a progression. You’re part of a pattern of growth and development, a growth that leads to greater understanding of others and the capacity to become more loving. All are on pathways that lead them to become more loving. Viewing others is accepting the validity of their pathways, not saying that those pathways are what is best for you, but rather accepting that the pathways they may be on are the right pathways for them, and so your heart vision grows to accept the validity of their pathways, not for you but for them.

When you feel your own pathway is somehow unfair or unjust or undeserved, that is a formula that rejects a more profound vision of self. We have said that feelings of guilt, for example, do not have a permanent place in the development of spirit, for spirit does not grow through a sense of guilt because such emotions limit, curtail, discourage, or suppress real growth. By eliminating the negative energies of guilt through a recognition that you yourself are on your own pathway at a place that is fairly appropriate, you can reach out in your own life with a vision that focuses on the opportunities for growth, for becoming stronger in spirit, not punishing yourself with negative energy.

Accepting yourself with a peripheral perspective can be equally beneficial to accepting another. You then can have a heart vision that looks inward and celebrates the self not with criticism, not with guilt or other diminishing energies, but rather with a commitment to grow, to become clearer and broader in heart vision. By truly accepting others on their pathways and accepting yourself on your own pathway, you are opening the vision of the heart that nourishes your soul.

You have your own challenges and your own objectives in life, but have those challenges and objectives within that peripheral heart vision, so the challenges take on more meaning, and the objectives you have in life take on greater clarity. As your vision of the heart expands, you will see more clearly God’s presence in all others and the centrality of that presence to your own life.

Our objectives as your guides can be described in a more singular fashion by saying we are broadening your heart vision. We are providing a wider, more nuanced peripheral perspective that enhances and gives meaning to your life journey.

You are indeed blessed as you focus your energies on a vision that includes all, that accepts the sacredness of all, and that affirms the pathways upon which each travels toward becoming filled with love, filled with faith.

Amen.
