• God, love and human life as circles
• Vibrations
• All souls were together previously
God joins your hands and your hearts together as in the circle you formed to lift your prayers for so many others. Your circle was more than a symbol of unified prayer. Your circle was in itself a prayer, for it was a manifestation, a community expression of love. Prayer is love. Although you chose to be united in that circle as a way of joining in prayer, it is important that you realize that even without prayer being offered, the circle had great meaning, for it was the prayer of unity…not a symbol but an action of equality, mutual acceptance, and an acknowledgment of a chain of spiritual connection.
You are what you do. Of course, you are also what you wish. You are what you pray for. But it is what you do that clearly is a reflection of who you are. When you gather holding hands in a circle, it is something that you do as an expression of itself and not merely a symbol. As you gather, you gather always in a kind of circle. You face one another, you see all in the same glance. There are no leaders and followers. There is total equality. Your lives for a moment are chained to one another in a bond of love.
You may think of God as a circle. It is not that the circle is a symbol of God, but think for a moment, picture, if you will, God as a circle that exists on many planes, many levels. When you think of the earth, it may be a globe, but a globe has an infinite number of circles. Within that circle are individuals, are mountains, are oceans, animate and inanimate entities, but all exist on that globe and therefore all exist in some kind of circle. No matter how you cut through a globe, there is a kind of circle, there is a completeness.
You have love for children, you have love for parents and siblings. All is interconnected, all is truly a circle.
Before your human experience, you were Spirit. After your human experience, you are Spirit. Following that spiritual life, you may again experience human life and then return once more to spiritual life. So there is a sense of completeness, a returning to where you began.
A circle does not have a beginning or an end. It is so with love, it is so with your relationships to all others. You may imagine relationships beginning and ending. It is easier to understand that no relationship is fully completed, for no relationship is fully forgotten. It continues, perhaps changed, but it continues. Far more difficult is it to imagine that no relationship has a beginning. You may meet someone for the first time and believe that is the beginning, but we tell you that is not the beginning. It is only when circles intersect. Your lives intersected as Spirit before they intersected together in human life.
Those whom you meet you have known before. It is only that you do not remember them. The very truth about human life is that there is no soul that is a stranger to another. The clothing of the body may disguise the knowledge of the Spirit, but that recognition is never lost. It is only your memory that fails.
Sometimes you meet someone for the first time, and you have the sensation of having known them earlier. That is not some kind of coincidence or imagination, for in that instant, memory succeeds.
The meaning of this is clear. You know all whom you meet, you know all whom you do not meet, for in your prior spiritual life, you were together. Indeed, this common spiritual friendship, love, is the basis for our urging you always to find ways of loving one another. Loving one another is acknowledging your past relationship. It is not something which is started from the beginning, for that circle of life has no real beginning. It is a continuation. It may appear unique, but it is merely a continuation of what always has been and what always will be.
When you feel animosity toward another, that animosity is directed toward the visible experiences that you are aware of. But you cannot feel hatred, you cannot feel antagonism toward one whom you love. We say “love” not “loved,” because the Spirit Love continues regardless of the physical manifestation. You love another because you both share a love in Spirit. You may not love the manifestation that you see, that you feel, that you touch, but you really are asked to love what is permanent, what never began and never ended and never will end.
There is a relationship to the circle. Some of you felt an energy when you stood with hands embraced. There is an energy between spirits. You asked about vibrations. The energy of Spirit can be understood through the manifestation of vibration, just as it is understood through an understanding of light. Is there vibration? Yes. Is there light? Yes. When lights combine, hues are created. When vibrations are combined, other vibrations are created. Two strings on an instrument can vibrate simultaneously, one sympathetic to the other. A violin sounds sweet because the wood vibrates sympathetically with the strings. When the wood does not vibrate, the sound is dull. Individuals can understand a loving relationship when their spiritual vibrations are sympathetic.
James’ first awareness of another level of life was a kind of pulsating voice. It was a vibration. It was not a light. Some individuals are aware of an aura around others. That is a sensitivity to light. That is light in physics but a frequency of vibration? Both exist, both are related one to another.
You say of a relationship, at times, that there were “good vibes,” there were good vibrations. That expression is not merely figurative but literal. It is not by accident that such terms “find” their way into spoken language. People speak of vibrations between personalities while denying the presence of Spirit. It is indeed true that vibration is a part of the universal energy of Spirit. But there are other manifestations of this energy beyond what you can sense.
In our form of life, we are fully aware of these added dimensions. There is light that you cannot see. There is light that you cannot measure. There is light that you are totally unaware of and have never thought of, but the light exists and we see it. We see it as clearly as you may see light with your eyes. We feel this energy as clearly as you feel the touch of another. We are aware of its warmth more intimately than you sense warmth.
The energy of Spirit is broad and all-encompassing. We try to explain this to you in terms that you may comprehend. We talk about brilliant colors that emanate from your soul. We talk about the warmth of love. We talk about the touch of Spirit. Some individuals are aware of Spirit through the sensation of being touched, of a weight on a shoulder, around a head, on a hand. But our experience of Spirit energy affirms beyond any doubt the immediate, loving presence of God. We express this relationship of God to all as loving, for that is a term that you can understand, identify with, be guided by, and be moved to express. But the loving energy of God is beyond the human sensation of being loved or being loving. It is another dimension of Spirit energy. There are therefore countless ways in which the Spirit both recognizes and communicates.
We speak of different spheres of spiritual growth. These spheres may in part be explained as an increased understanding of the various energy forms that comprise God’s presence. Science is much more aware of the existence of particles of one description or another that were beyond the dreams of scientists a hundred years ago. The fact that those scientists in the past had no concept of the particles that scientists today measure and postulate about does not mean that those particles did not exist, does not mean that there were not other forms of energy.
You learn about energy in your human life. You learn about ways of connecting with others in human life. We learn about energy. We learn about connecting. We learn about love far deeper than what is possible in human form. That is what distinguishes our levels of spiritual growth. Our growth is part of a continuum just as yours is. It is not defined by specific layers, but it is recognized by increasing awareness and the capacity to act, the capacity to exercise our awareness. Your growth is acknowledged and measured by your capacity to live as you know, to characterize your lives based on your knowledge. You are asked to live by what you learn.
We have taught much and we will continue to teach. As you have been blessed by what you have learned, you bring blessings to others by what you do. Doing does not mean going around and proclaiming your faith. Doing can be accomplished in silence through prayer, through elevating and affirming another in thoughts. But it is always characterized by reaching out to others.
You, of course, have need for reaching within, but humankind moves forward in spirit as a result of your individual and collective commitment to affirmation. We guide you in that commitment. We guide you in ways of applying what we share with you. You must always be open to being shown the Light. You must always be open to viewing the path that is illuminated by that Light and by our love.
You are blessed through that illumination. You are blessed in your infinite circles. You are blessed as you affirm. Be comforted by the affirmation of others. Be guided by your openness to the love of God as we reflect it upon your dear souls.
Amen.
