• How guides interact with human life

• All prayer is ultimately directed to self

• Healing is not necessarily the elimination of all difficulties

God who is the Creator of all creates in you an awareness, a sensitivity, a desire to seek out the ultimate truths about the spiritual connections you have with all that exists. You are blessed in your seeking. That seeking provides much of the life force that guides your life as a human being. We would like to speak with you more about the process by which your guides interact with your human life.

As you know, most guides have experienced human life frequently. Some guides have developed a spiritual depth through nonhuman life-forms, but whether or not human life has been experienced, there is a learning, an enriching of spirit, that occurs for all on our plane including your guides.

You can learn much from your guides when you allow yourself space in your life to just be still, to be open to inspiration, to insight. Sometimes that insight is experienced as an aha moment. Sometimes that insight takes years in the human concept of time until there is an understanding. There is no timeframe when you are engaged in the pursuit of spirit through your guides.

Time, as you will remember, is a human construction that helps to organize your understanding of events, but time is purely relative. There is no absolute time. You can measure moments mechanically, and yet that has no bearing on your perception of time because you experience time differently in different situations. Sometimes you feel that time moves quickly and at other times more slowly. So, time is not a quality which relates in any way to spiritual growth.

You cannot even measure in terms of a human’s lifespan. One can’t say that to gain an understanding of spirit requires a specified number of lifetimes. There is no way to equate issues of time with spirit growth. You grow as you grow. You evolve as you evolve. There is no point in placing a measuring stick that describes a given passage of time. The lack of time is an important component to your understanding of the expansion, the growth, of spirit.

As you have learned, it is the intention of your guides to provide input. It is not a matter of saying after a certain number of months or years that human beings sort out what is truly significant. The only thing which is important in your relationships with guides is that you are receptive, you’re open, that your growing understandings are not colored by personal biases or preferences.

You pray to God for healing, and in such prayers, there is the intention that healing must occur within a particular time framework as you identify it. True healing is independent from any concept of time, for what is healing but being open, being receptive, being willing to listen? Healing is a statement of reality that above all means balance, as you know. But what is it that you are balancing? Ultimately the process of healing is a balancing that acknowledges the constant loving presence of the creator of all, the overwhelming presence of all that has been created. Balance could be described as understanding, understanding through being receptive. It’s not an elimination of all difficulties. Such difficulties can be eliminated, but that’s not the true effect of healing.

Your guides serve not to answer your prayers, but we serve to open your spirit so that you can know that presence of the Spirit Center. It is so that you become aware of a loving life force that permeates all. If you pray to God, if you pray to your guides for resolution of some concern you have, we don’t suddenly leap into action, so to speak, because you have asked for it. God is not activated through your prayers with such presence. Rather, you are open to that loving, healing, balancing essence that is always with you. You may choose to close your perceptions, to close your understandings, or you can choose to throw open the shutters and welcome the light onto your path, a light which has always been present.

Your guides serve to open the heart vision. It is you who then exercise that openness and embrace what is good and loving. It is you who are activated. It is you who are called into action by those prayers.

If you pray to God and offer prayers to your guides that you might feel at peace within, the peace that you seek is already within. It is in the praying that the heart vision is opened through your intentions so that you recognize that peace that you pray for. You could say that your guides are enablers. We are not empowering God. We are empowering you to see God, to know something of God, to feel something of God’s presence, to understand more clearly how that presence impacts all. Those are the answers to your prayers.

We have been your guides since the beginning of your earthly life, and we serve you in many different ways. Our functions in supporting you vary. They are not assigned functions. We all speak with the heart, but it is for you to listen and then to know. Your relationship with your guides will never be so static that there is no room for growth, for understanding, for insight. Your relationship with us is dynamic. It deepens, it changes, it takes on various clothes, but ultimately your guides are a mirror focusing the reality of God on your understandings.

Too often human beings remove themselves from enabling what it is they pray for. If you wish to see God, look to your neighbor. If you wish to see God, look to whatever is beautiful around you. If you wish to see God, look for whatever provides strength, spiritual strength, emotional strength, mutual understanding, patience, loving acts toward others. All of these are part of what it means to see God. The reality of that spiritual presence is no different than the reality of any object that you observe with your eyes.

There is nothing theoretical about God’s presence. There is nothing complex about that presence. There is nothing that requires long study about that presence. All that’s needed is openness. You can certainly study the history of observations and considerations of others affirming the reality of God. We do not intend to diminish such study, but all that is studied ultimately serves as a witness to what is always with you, to what can be understood with an open heart. You could be told about God. You could be told about your guides, but the real growth takes place when you recognize what is there, what surrounds you always. And when you see that presence as we define such vision, you can no longer deny that reality, and you are more able to bring that reality intensely into your vision of the world through the heart.

We, as your guides, serve to provide a perspective through which you understand what your experiences in life become. No two experiences are the same. There is no life, no human life, that is without difficulty. You may observe what seems to be a charmed existence in comparison with others who seem to be constantly suffering and struggling to exist, but the truth is no life exists without the challenges that are faced by all.

Your guides help to provide a context for you to understand the life you live. When we say it is you who are active in meeting the needs you pray for, we are not suggesting that guides are a passive presence, for we serve to open your vision. We serve to make your vision clearer that you may be responsive to the calls of life, responsive to the outcries of others. Yes, of course we grow spiritually, and what we share with you is a reflection of what we know to be true.

It is so important for all human beings to accept the truth that God’s response to your needs is the response of others. God’s response is your response to those needs. In praying for peace and understanding, it is you who do what you can do to lead to that peace, to that understanding. It is never God just stepping in and taking over because you have prayed for that. All prayer, whether intended or not, is ultimately directed to self.

You pray for understanding. We can help to build that understanding, but the exercise of that understanding is yours. You pray for health. You are given the strength ultimately to understand the balance that is always present. At times of national struggles and feelings of loss and despair, it is not your guides or God that intervene. It is you, all of you, who are strengthened and motivated to work in whatever ways are appropriate. The strength, the energy, the sense of unending intention ultimately comes from your heart vision, ultimately comes from what you hear from your guides, from God. If you are open in your heart, your understanding will grow and deepen and be more perceptive and effective.

Pray to us for our presence not because we are absent, but rather you are praying for the vision to know we are always with you. When you pray for patience, God’s response is not to give you patience. God’s response is to open you in such a way that you embody the patience you seek.

Human life ultimately is a life in the pursuit of real openness. It is in that openness that you truly see God. You see God not as a spiritual idea. You see God in the faces of others, in the hands of others, in the gifts of others that are offered through spirit.

Your guides are with you constantly. We are a part of every corner of your life. We focus the divine center that is God upon your every moment. Be open to that energy. Be open to that life force that is there. Be strengthened through your vision and be strengthened as you see God in the face of another. Be strengthened by the goodness that abounds without being overwhelmed by the challenges you face.

You are all part of God’s response. You are part of God’s loving presence. You are collectively God’s power in the world. See that blessing. See that presence. Feel the strength of that spirit life force that emanates from God through our loving presence.

You are indeed blessed when you are open. You are blessed when you are sensitive. You are blessed by your intentions to be one with another. You are blessed by your intentions to be one with all that exists, human and nonhuman. All that exists responds to God’s light. All that exists responds to your light. Feel yourself in the process of becoming, of giving, of serving.

Amen.
