• Nature of divine light

• Life begins as one cell creates another

• Light always overcomes darkness

You are indeed surrounded in your many emotions and in your questioning and your searching by a light that illuminates every corner of your life. This light, which sheds a warmth and a brilliance and a comforting love on your very existence, is a light very different from what you perceive to be light in your daily lives. There is a brilliance that we speak of often, but the brilliance is not a blinding brightness. It is an overwhelming energy of absolute, total peace. It has many colors to it, but these colors are not reds and yellows. They are forms of energy that are best described to you as colors, for you perceive light in its color components, and such an analogy has an immediate understanding when you consider it most carefully. But the light that we actually see is a light of intensity of feeling. It is a light that is surrounded by this peace, this calm, this sense of completeness, sense of fulfillment.

The adjectives that could be used to describe the light we see are infinite. The energy radiates infinite ways in infinite directions. It radiates in a kind of warmth. It radiates in a kind of comfort. It radiates with that sense of well-being. It radiates through others, through other souls. We experience love through that radiation, directly and indirectly—directly from God, indirectly from other spirits.

Each of you experiences a similar response. When you are with those to whom you feel closest, be they family or friends, you have a sense of total acceptance. You feel you can share with others who you are, with no fear of rejection or ridicule. That experience never lasts long enough, and you can recall it easily, but sometimes regretfully because of its brevity. For us, this light that we observe provides a similar feeling to what you experience in such an environment.

If you are surrounded by loving support and total nonjudgmental behavior, you are freed. You are freed to explore, to express, to share, to divulge, to live in company rather than in isolation. The entire experience encourages you to expand, to become broader and deeper, to become more sensitive. This is what we experience and it is constant. As we are surrounded by loving souls, we are free to develop, we are free to reach out, we are free to be loving, we are free to be vulnerable, and it is this expansion of our lives in this environment that allows us the joy and blessing of being in community and communion with you and with all human beings.

We are able to reach you because our experience serves to expand our spiritual entity. We share this, not to make our life seem more attractive, but to help you understand something of what it means to be in the light. When you shed God’s light on others, you are providing an environment that allows another to expand without limit. The greatest light that you can provide is one that allows another’s light to develop and expand on its own, so it can in turn illuminate the light and therefore the life of another.

When you are discouraged, we recognize that through the color that you emit. It is not a purple or a blue or some such hue. It is the color of energy. It is perhaps most easily described as a frequency, a vibration of sorts. You have many ways of describing such frequencies in scientific terms, but it is a level of frequency of vibration of energy that is created, and it is through that energy that you are identified. We don’t see your physical being, for that is of absolute unimportance, but we do see your energy, your spiritual energy, and that energy says much about what you experience, what you fear, what gives you reason to rejoice. All lives, as a result, are best understood as an exchange of energy.

Where does this fit into concerns about life, the beginning of life, the presence of spirit? As you discussed this evening, life begins as a cell creates another. This expansion of the cell is an unfolding of energy. Spiritual presence is a presence of the energy of spirit to accompany the energy of the physical. The physical does not expand and evolve alone, separate from spiritual energy. Physical energy is always accompanied by the spirit, for there is no entity that exists that is outside of spiritual light, the spiritual center that you refer to as God. Since God is a part of all that exists, God’s energy is a part of all that exists. It is for this reason that we can say that the spirit accompanies you from the very beginning of your physical life.

But energy cannot be contained. Energy has one direction and that is expansion. Certainly energy can become depleted, but there is no containment of the location of that energy. Think of heat. Think of a body that creates or emanates heat. In time the heat may cool, but the heat is always expanding. It is never static. Heat is a form of energy just as light is, just as sound is. All that you are aware of in your senses is the result of energy. Energy vibrates, it oscillates, it spins, it is constantly in motion and therefore in constant state of change.

Many times we urge you to understand that good expands, love expands, the power of God expands, and therefore what is good, as you perceive to be a reflection of God, expands. It is true, what is good will never disappear, and what is positive, what is loving will always increase in its presence.

There are always concerns about the nature of good and the nature of what you call evil. The pressures, the tension, the conflict, the competition between good and evil are always a part of human life. You live in this split world as part of your development to accommodate both directions, and in so doing to find a way to expand what is good. You are almost too aware of the impact of negative energies in human life, so much so that it is difficult for you to see the gains that are inherent with love, with the desire for peace, with the commitment to being nonjudgmental. But the truth is, the human condition in its totality is moving toward the light coming from the Spirit Center. Your lives contribute to that journey.

Often you feel ineffective. You work, you’re committed to what is positive, to what is loving, and yet you lose sight of the impact of that commitment. Positive energy is important as a source of the evolution of more positive energy. When you are patient or loving, you are increasing the presence of patience and love. That cannot be denied. It reflects the light in all ways, and that reflection provides the nourishment for more patience, more love.

The dark never expands, for what is dark is not filled with energy; what is light, is. Lightness always consumes darkness. You shine a flashlight in the dark—the light does not disappear; the darkness does. The reality of God’s creation is centered upon this simple acknowledgment that light always overcomes darkness.

There are moments in your lives when you may be convinced that darkness prevails, but that is only because your vision is clouded. It is not a statement of reality. When you feel discouraged, when you feel fearful, when you feel anxious, those are moments of darkness and they belong to life, but they are overcome at all times by what is light, by what is love, by all that is supportive and affirming and strengthening.

The colors we see are the colors of this light. There is nothing to be seen in the darkness. The darkness is a veil created by humans in your life-form on earth. This spiritual darkness is one of perception and not reality. You must always focus your efforts on the evidence of life, the evidence of light, the evidence of love, the evidence of affirmation, the evidence of support. That is the light that you pursue.

You ask to be given light to illuminate your path. That light is not a visual light but a metaphor for seeking on your path the presence of peace and acknowledgment of love. That is the light. And when you seek peace, and when you are aware of that peace, then you are no longer consumed by doubt and fear. Experiencing your lives and exchanging activities within a framework of peace, you are not leaving space for doubt and fear. We urge you to see the light as we see it, to seek the condition of spiritual comfort, a sense of warmth, a spiritual well-being, a sense of peace. And when you experience those moments, you are experiencing an environment that allows your souls to blossom, to expand and to become enriched. You are allowing your souls to be free—free to wander, free to experience beyond the life you provide. When you sleep in peace, you are providing that ingredient, that environment, for the soul. But when you go through your lives in great hurry and hectic frenzy, the soul is not free. Live your lives so that your spirit may soar, and when you do the light of God will be spread eternally and without limit.

You are blessed in the light. Become that light!
