• A slow transition to the afterlife
• Everything is evolving towards peace and love
Each one of you and all whom you embrace in your prayers are indeed given Light.
Each one of you grows in ways that are invisible and yet in no way uncertain. Your growth individually and collectively is measured through your interactions, your exchanges, with others. You feel you grow in your awareness of God, but the real growth, the significant growth, that takes place is the result of your increasing connectedness to others, for it is through others that you experience the manifestation of God. You may experience God’s manifestation internally by feeling the peace, the centeredness that we have spoken of, but the true application of that centeredness is seen most clearly through your relationships to the creation that surrounds you, all relationships—human and nonhuman, breathing and non-breathing. As you heighten your connections to All That Is, you are giving evidence of the centeredness and peace that you seek.
Your questions and concerns and observations at this time are essentially surrounding relationships—relationships between someone who is preparing to be with us, relationships between your nation and the world in which you live, relationships of family members to one another, relationships between generations. It is on the relationships and their importance that we wish to focus our thoughts and guidance at this time.
The most important component in your lives is undeniably relationships, for that is the one component which is permanent. You have a relationship with your body, but that is temporary. Relationships between people, between nations lives and flourishes far beyond the immediate relationship in question. Your relationship with another human being is like a plant with many layers. It is the interaction of these layers that comprise the plant. It is not just the outer layer. It is not just a particular layer, but it is the collection of layers that make up the relationship.
You ask about one whom you know who seems to linger, apparently unable or unwilling to make the transition to the spiritual plane of life. Every human being goes through this transition. For some the transition is lengthy; for others it is brief and even unexpected, but the transition is there. Your relationship to those in transition is central, but it is central to both those individuals who are making the transition, and especially for those who are left behind.
Some individuals will themselves to resist the change in life from one energy form to another. Some welcome that transition. Some eagerly anticipate it. But the transition itself when it occurs is natural, it is undeniable, and it is ultimately surrounded with a loving Light. The individual who may be executed for crimes committed or believed to be committed, although maybe nearly alone, is nevertheless surrounded in Light. Everyone is surrounded, especially at that time as opposed to when long removed from that event, for all that has been created is surrounded by the same Light, the same intensity, the same love, the same compassion of their guides. It is not that an individual approaching this transition is more intensely surrounded, but rather that those who are not facing this transition personally become heightened in their awareness of the presence of Spirit for those making this journey.
That being said, for the individuals whose transition may seen protracted, there is both a resistance by that individual, and as you have correctly surmised, a need to be supported in that transition. That support comes from family, from friends, from acquaintances, but that support can also come from an acknowledgement that one’s journey has come to a fruitful place of change, a place of arrival, that what has been sought after has in some way been fulfilled. You cannot look at such transitions that seem to be inexplicably understood to be somehow from a single cause but rather a combination of causes. For one person, the comfort of being with others is of great assistance. For others, the comfort of complete quiet, being alone with one’s spirit, in communion with the Spirit Center is what is ultimately wished for.
Each of you will make a transition that is particularly appropriate for you. It is not for others to know what you seek specifically, but rather that others be open to inspiration in being guided in the direction of the help, the support, the environment that is needed.
Your friend [who was removed from life support several weeks ago] is making a transition that is indeed gradual and smooth. She is surrounded by those she loves through their physical presence, through their prayers, through their sense of peace. She is not waiting for many to enter her presence, but she is accommodating her position of transition in view of her past understanding and her developing view. It is not so much a function of spending time on our plane and returning, and then spending time on our plane and then returning. She is in the enviable position of knowing the beauty of both sides of the journey, the origin and its destination. She is seeing what is meant by continuity. She is seeing the connection between the beauty of human life and the beauty of spirit. This view of the continuum is important for her as she accumulates the sense of peace that she needs to step into the Light.
How is she helped most effectively? Through prayer, through surrounding her with joy, with gratitude, with confidence, with enormous love. It is that which those who share her space can do. It is not a matter of bringing many others into the circle. She is where she needs to be in this transition.
We see her with peace. We see her with a growing vision of spirit, and she is surrounded by us as well as those whom she loves, and that peace, that spirit, is the nourishment that is permanent. It is the relationship which is permanent. It is the relationship that is being nurtured by those close to her, and it is the relationship that she is nurturing with them and with us. It is a condition of great beauty and enormous light.
Those who are with her should sense that light, that illumination, and focus on the joy that that is creating for her and put less energy on the loss that they feel. That loss is real, that loss is intense, but that loss is also an important component of this entire experience, for there is much for the family to learn by accepting and living in Light, and knowing that such Light is always, always present. She is not being abandoned, and neither are they.
You are also concerned about issues of relationships between peoples of the world—individuals, religions, governments, communities, segments of one community in opposition to other segments in the same community. We can assure you that God, the Spirit Center, is indeed part of what you are observing, but God is responding in the way that is most loving and will be recognized as such.
We are not looking at time, for our perception of reality is not based on time. It is based on an event, an evolving, an engagement. Governments, individuals, religions, communities, elements of communities are in the process of evolving. There are many struggles that belong to this development, but those struggles ultimately lead to the Light. There are detours, there are side roads to be taken, there are obstacles to be overcome, and those obstacles are very real, but the direction is still one that leads in the end to being loving, to being caring, to being the embodiment of all that is positive, to being reflective of God’s Light, the Light of all that is created.
You have the expression of “winning a battle and losing the war.” It would be much more appropriate to say “at times you lose the battle, but you will always win the war.” And what happens in the battle carries reality toward a new Light. There will always be conflicts, for those conflicts are an extension of what it means to be human. Conflicts are to be expected, but the growth, the vision, the direction as a result are undeniable.
If you are training for some physical event, some sport or some other activity to become stronger, you must be pushed to the point where you feel you have reached your maximum effort, to the point where you feel the pain of exhaustion, when you feel the agony of being unable to do more. But what happens is that through that pain, you are being strengthened. You are never strengthened merely by talking about the values of strength. You are strengthened through your stretching, through your bearing of difficulty, through your encountering with resistance.
It is the same with the spirit. You grow in spirit because you are pushed, because you are challenged. You grow in spirit because you have human life. You grow in spirit because you encounter what human life provides, whether that provision is joyous or not. To gain the strength that is needed, you must exercise certain muscles in the body. To gain the spirit strength that is needed, you must exercise the spirit, and that exercising, that encounter with resistance, is a kind of refiner’s fire that strengthens the metal and that provides its character and its uniqueness. For the human spirit to be strengthened, it must encounter the challenges of human life.
We know you find it difficult when we say to accept those challenges. Those challenges are lessons to be learned, but that is in fact true. You are not given life so that all events are easy to accommodate, for there is no building that occurs—only an affirmation of where you are. We say that each of you is where you are, and wherever that is is where you belong, but we do not say that where you are is where you must stay. Evolving from where you are toward where you can be requires an acceptance of what is needed to make a kind of transition to what you seek.
Your transition as human beings, your transition as spiritual entities is identical to the transition of an individual to our plane of life that may seem extended beyond what appears right. Your transition toward a world of greater peace is a transition that seems longer than what is right, but the transition occurs. The growth of the human spirit, the soul that inhabits human life, is undeniable. That growth carries you to a place of greater peace, whether that is a peace of spirit or a peace that is the absence of strife and discord. Both are the same process. Both transitions are essential, and just as you transition to our life, you also transition toward human life that is characterized more by peace than by war. Transitions they both are, and such transitions must be accepted as important, strength-giving, ultimately leading to the peace that you seek, whether it is a political, military peace or the peace of a single soul who joins our plane of Light and Life.
You are therefore urged to accept these transitions, these periods of growth, recognizing that there is much that is gained, and that truly nothing can be measured by a clock or a calendar. Such devices have no value. It is the transition, it is the growth, it is the relationship between where you are and the goal toward which you seek that is permanent.
Human life is destined toward peace. The human spirit is destined toward a peace on our plane. The destiny is certain. The journey is unclear to many, but the journey ultimately must be trusted. You do what you can do to assist this growth, to enhance the relationship between where you are and where you wish to be. Your service to others as they transition to us or as they work toward a more peaceful world are equally essential, for such service is a direct reflection of the Light that embraces you all.
You are blessed in that Light. You are blessed as you assist in transitions. You are blessed as you affirm the permanence of relationships. You are blessed in the vision that you are given on your journeys.
Amen.
