• Intersection with guides
• Characteristics of light, darkness, and energy
God, in such spirit presence, illuminates your paths with love and with peace.
Your lives intersect one another because they are in some sense destined to do so. This is a special group for each of you, but it is not really special in that it is not meant to single you out in any way. What you experience has meaning to you and to others, but the experiencing of God is a personal relationship impacting all human beings in a unique way that is equally important, equally meaningful, equally loving.
You all acknowledge our existence, and you all go through periods of questioning: what does it mean when your paths intersect with one another and when those paths intersect with us? We frequently explore the impact of such intersections among human beings, but we would like to focus a bit more of your thoughts on what it means to intersect with us.
We exist with the same reality that you exist. We are equally as important in the totality of all that is created as you are important. Our life, and it is life, is no more important than your lives, but ours are nevertheless very different from your own personal experiences. We are part of the link that connects God to your own spirits, but we are not the only link, for your physical lives are also an important link. It is because of the importance of your physical lives that spirit chooses to join the human condition. As we are your teachers, you are also teachers—teachers to spirit.
We see a path illuminated by God’s presence. You see a path illuminated by our presence. We seek to comfort, to affirm. You seek to comfort and affirm. You are, during your earthly lives, a kind of embodiment of our reality on our plane of life.
You suffer from frustration at times and disappointment. We suffer, too, but it is a different kind of suffering. It is not a suffering of pain, but a vision of where we are spiritually and what we are moving toward, spiritually. We see where we are. We are aware of our development, but we are also aware of God’s presence most directly.
Your frustrations are on a more temporal plane. You can sense what you would like to accomplish, and you balance that against what it means to have reached a chosen goal. You sense a distance—a distance of where you are on your path and where you see that path going. We sense that distance of where we are spiritually and the goal toward which we evolve. If you define frustration as a recognition of where you are and the effort needed to be where you wish to be, then we could define frustration as an awareness of where we are and the growth that lies before us as we fulfill our spiritual destiny.
Your frustrations are often interpreted negatively, for they are surrounded by a feeling of not getting where you wish to be in the time frame that you set. Our frustration is very different, for our frustration is a positive one. We see where the path leads, and we are eager for the journey, for spiritual growth is a journey for you and for us.
Your guides are not all-knowing, all-seeing, (for that is God), just as your human lives are not all-knowing, all-seeing. But our blessing is to look inward to see God, and to look outward and see you, for you are part of the same entity. It is like standing on a path and looking in one direction and seeing a beautiful view, and while remaining on the path looking in another direction and observing another beautiful view. The views are joined together by way of the observer on the path. In this way you and God are joined together by way of our vision of you both. If you can share that sense of dual vision toward us, toward God, and toward your fellow human beings, then you come a long way towards the recognition of the absolute unity of which we speak.
Your lives and our lives are permanently engaged. At no time ever are we separated. We are one. We are a part of the same ocean, and therefore belong to each other. You seek insight from us, but you apply that insight toward others, and in doing so, you link the others you see in human life to the spirit that you know through us.
How is this bond strengthened? Can it be strengthened? Can it be weakened? The bond between you and your guides is never broken. There is no possible way to separate you from what we are. We both exist. You are temporal, we are spiritual, but you also contain the spirit and that is permanent. We are spiritual, but once were also human or human-like. Our backgrounds before becoming your guides are varied. For many, experience of human life is the most recent, but for others, the background has been enriched by life-forms and experiences, energy forms, that are totally beyond your awareness.
Energy exists and is transformed in part, but is not either created or destroyed. Some energy forms are human, some energy forms are pure spirit, but you and we exist as related energies. We are not separate. You don’t hide from us. We don’t discontinue our direct involvement in your lives. When you pray for us, we grow. We pray for you and you grow.
The very communication that you experience in this group is a blending of energy. It is an opening by both of us. You’re open to receive; we’re open to give. At times, human beings are not open to receive, but we, in contrast, are always giving. What do we give to you? We give you light, we give you love, we give you understanding, we give you peace. These gifts are constant, for we are surrounded by those very qualities.
When you are surrounded by light, you reflect light. We are surrounded by light, and therefore we reflect it. Darkness is not reflected. Darkness absorbs, darkness takes, but darkness never gives. Only light spreads. Darkness is not an energy. As we have said before, it is a condition, but there is no energy in darkness. The energy comes from light, and energy begets energy. Energy encourages energy. When you call that energy love, it encourages love. When you call that energy compassion, it encourages compassion.
We say to you, “You must receive love in order to be giving.” In the giving of the love that you receive, you are reflecting that love. You’re sending that energy outward. Darkness, on the other hand, does not spread, it does not give. It only takes in, it only absorbs. Giving is not a characteristic of darkness, but is an important component of light. If you hold a mirror to darkness, you don’t increase the darkness. There is nothing to increase. You hold a mirror to light, and you multiply that light.
Our lives as guides exist only in light. Your lives are becoming more filled with light, and therefore reflect that. We are both evolving. You are evolving into the light, and we evolve by reflecting that light. The more we reflect, the more light there is to reflect. The connection between human life and spirit life is a connection of evolution to reflection. It is moving always toward light, for light is similar to a magnet. Our lives are filled with that energy, and human lives are gradually drawn to the energy that surrounds us.
We teach because we reflect. The very process of communication in which we are engaged is a process of reflection, but as we reflect God’s love to you, we also refract that love. We take the energy that is God’s and transform it into an energy that can be received, that can be a nourishing force, that can be an illumination.
There are countless human beings who are unaware of our presence, but we still reflect, we still warm, we still support, we still affirm, we still comfort. Human beings may feel a sense of comfort, a sense of peace amidst chaos, but not acknowledge the source of that peace, that balance, and that is okay. What is most important is that the comfort they seek is somehow felt.
You have all had experiences of standing at an intersection and knowing the right way to turn. That knowledge may not be immediately credited to your guides, but rather you have a hunch, you have a feeling that a particular path must be followed. There is no problem with that, for you can be aware of your guides without knowing of them, because you are aware of the impact of their presence rather than merely their presence. We make no demands that you must constantly credit us when you go through your pathways of life, for our impact is there nevertheless. But when you do recognize the presence of guides, the presence of spirit, then the experiences that you have become much deeper, more meaningful.
We’re not suggesting that you spend all of your waking hours wondering “what would the guides do, what would the guides have us do,” for you have many demands upon your daily awareness. It suffices rather to acknowledge from time to time that your guides are a part of your daily lives. We ask that you devote some time to an increasing awareness of spirit—your own internal spirit and a Spirit of Creation. Doing so, you see the unity of what is inside and what is all around you.
We are guides, not dictators. We offer help, but we never demand. You can choose to follow what you know, but no matter what choices you make, you are never the errant child, the disobedient child who seems to go backward. As we have said, you can only move forward. There is no backward. And in some opportunities that you choose to move away, in your terms, from where you think the right path may be, you are still in the process of evolving, deepening, becoming more enriched in your spiritual foundations.
Yes, you are given human life to live human life. You’re given opportunities to explore, to expand, to try, to succeed as you define success, to fail as you define failure, to choose as you define the choices. All of these are an important component to your life.
Be aware when you can of the richness of spirit, the blessing of guidance, and the everlasting love of God.
Amen.
