You are heard by God. You are seen by God. You are felt by God. All of these connections you have with God you also have with your guides, for we see you, hear you, feel you, know you, and we embrace you with a loving sense of unconditional acceptance.

If there is one overriding principle that girds our relationship with you and with all people, it is one of encouragement to drop judgment, encouragement to put behind you any approaches which serve to judge the value of another. Yes, you certainly are correct when you acknowledge the behavior of others, but making a clear judgment that such behavior marks the inaccessible and inadmissible reality of another human being is never reflective of God. There are behaviors that reflect God, that reflect an understanding of God, but even those behaviors find themselves the subject of judgment.

Consider for example the reality that certain religious practices, certain practices based on a faith whether institutionalized or not, may be felt to be reflective of an understanding of God and yet be found offensive to a different understanding of God. Consider some societies that have felt obligated because of an understanding of God or gods that sacrifices must be made for appeasement. We can say categorically that God does not require appeasement, because appeasement is precisely what we have referred to in the past as a perception of conditional love. One must do something to deserve God’s love. Those behaviors were not necessarily followed for personal gain but out of an understanding from their own perspectives of the function of God in their society. So now you have groups of individuals trying to respond to life according to their understanding of a higher spiritual reality.

As you look at such behaviors, you may say immediately how cruel, how heartless, how inappropriate, how ungodly, but those who were engaged in such practices felt very deeply they were doing all they should in the presence of a God, and yet many societies look upon such practices as evil. You have, therefore, conflicts of a sort, paths that are not running parallel, and yet they are pursued with the strongest intention of following the presence of a God as they understood it. Even today, there are religious practices that are considered sacred, that are considered necessary in order to respond in the most appropriate way to God in life.

Your views of God are in many ways not less limited. You understand based of course on your own beliefs, but there is danger in insisting that your perception of what God is is beyond question. When we share with you particular views on the reality of God and the purpose of human life, those are absolute truths that we are sharing, but we use terminology that makes such truths have meaning, have an association of sorts with your own individual life.

We say, for example, that God is love. God is unconditional love. As a human being, you understand what unconditional means, and you grow in your understanding of what love means, but those understandings are still limited, not because you fail to comprehend unconditional, but you don’t fully understand the true presence of what is labeled as love. Unconditional love as we live it is far more expansive than what you can imagine as the application of such love. So, what we share with you is the reflection of the true reality, but as a human being you will still struggle to fully comprehend its meaning. As you try to apply that understanding on a daily basis with those around you, your actions can still be misunderstood, and you can be criticized for such actions. You can be criticized for the seeming certainty of your rightness. It is in struggling with your understanding of what is right that there will always be a kind of pushback from those whose perceptions of God are different.

We are saying that the difficulties that arise among people are not necessarily based on what is godly and what is not. If we interpret being godly as trying to reflect one’s belief in who or what God is, that belief can appear very one-sided and can be interpreted as not being godly at all in the eyes of some. So, there is even the expression of judgmental love being applied between those whose perceptions of God and whose commitment to those perceptions are so different. Both perceive themselves to be godly, and both are godly in their commitment to understand the reality of a spirit life beyond the human form. Judgment, therefore, is applied through very broad strokes.

What we wish to emphasize is that you may judge others because they are not reflective of the God as you understand it to be. Since it is inappropriate to judge others on the basis of what you do understand, it becomes even more inappropriate to judge others on a basis for which you have no understanding.

In our teachings, we try to clarify in human terms a relationship to God which in fact is not based on being human but on being spiritual, and yet it is through the use of human analogies that your understanding of God becomes more profound. As we often say, no two life paths are the same even when those life paths are dedicated to defining that life according to an understanding of God. You grow through your searching. You grow through the questioning. You grow through the efforts you make to understand God from a human perspective.

Most of your guides have also experienced a human form of life, but all of your guides have a clear understanding of the true meaning of God’s presence. We all know of God’s light. We see that light, not as you see light, but we recognize that presence in many colors, not blues and yellows and greens but colors of energy, characters of energy.

We recognize you through your colors, but you are not green or yellow or purple or blue. If we say to you, “We see your colors, and you are identified by them,” that is a general concept that is easier for you to understand than if we go into great detail about the varying vibrational frequencies associated with certain energy forms. That sounds so abstract, and yet that is how you are seen. There is no better way to help you to understand that you are recognized as being who you are by something that you emit. Calling them specific colors or using that term is a way of describing a reality, and that description is a representation of the truth. Any representation of anything is a kind of stand-in for something far deeper.

We say you are loved by God, and you understand there are lots of forms of love. Recognition of that presence as a love has a meaning that is immediately understood by human beings much more readily than saying that the energy center that is God emanates and includes all. It reaches out. It is part of all that is. All that exists is a component of that energy. That is the truth, but that is far more difficult to comprehend when spoken of in what seem to be technical terms.

Throughout human history, when there is a seeking for a greater understanding of human life than a belief that there is a higher power, there has been the need, the necessity, to somehow relate that higher power to the human existence through very human concepts. We are your guides. We are part of the spiritual entity that is God just as you are part of that spiritual entity, but our entities have evolved to a point where we can resonate with the energy that is God in a way that is not available fully to human beings. We are an integral part of the energy, but it’s helpful for you to understand that our part in that energy, that reaching out, that inclusion of human forms of energy, is a kind of guidance. When you are aware of your guides, you are open to letting that energy filter in and illuminate.

When you pray to God, you are opening those shutters, allowing for the light to come in. The light is there. The light is always there, and you can allow the shutters to be open, or you can choose to keep them tightly closed. Every human being has that capacity to open or to close shutters. Some windows face east. Some face west. Some face south, and when the shutters are open, the direct sunlight comes in. For the shutters that face to the north, the sun may not shine directly, but the light from the sun is brought in. The direction of those shutters were different, and yet the experience of that sunlight was undeniable. For those whose windows face in one direction, the light may be visible at one time. That is very different from the light coming through a window facing another direction, but the fact is that all the rooms have windows, and all of those rooms are illuminated differently, different in intensity, different in timing, but the illumination is nevertheless present.

When you pray for others who seem to be in darkness, don’t pray that their windows should be open in the same direction as yours, but rather pray that the windows may be open. The light will come in. The illumination will happen. It is not necessary that standing in the center of a room with many windows that the light coming through all windows is equally bright, is equally intense, has the same color, has the same feel. Some light may be warm, some light may be cold, but the light is there. The pathways of those you pray for are therefore windows to the light. All the rooms have windows. All the rooms have the capacity to bring in light. There is no one light that is better than another. There are no grounds for arguing that the window facing south is more valuable than the window facing north or east or west. Light comes in. God’s presence comes in.

As you recognized, pray that another may have an open heart. Pray that another may be motivated to open the shutters and let whatever light is there enter. No paths are more valid than another. No windows are more valid than another. The person in front of the window facing east may be convinced that that is the best window because the light is coming in directly, and turning to the window facing west, the judgments may be that western facing window has no value, for the sun is not coming through that window. But in reality, the sun enters all windows.

The Spirit Center that is God enters all souls. All windows are equal. All souls are equal. All perceptions of God are equal. All perceptions ultimately are efforts to describe a truth that far exceeds any single perception. The sun is there. The sun is greater than all of the windows. The energy of the sun exceeds what a window can capture. The energy of God exceeds the spiritual openness of anyone. You see what you see. You understand what you come to understand. You believe what you currently believe. All that you see, all that you understand, all that you believe is a part of that total reality. It is not the totality of that reality.

Therefore, be open to the pathways of others. Be open to the beliefs of others who are convinced of their rightness, for in their rightness they are glimpsing something that is God’s light. It is not the entire light, but it belongs to that light.

Pray for openness, your own and the openness of all others. Never feel that your perception of God is the only true perception. Allow a place in your heart for the beliefs of others, recognizing that those beliefs are part of their process of opening shutters. It is part of the process of opening their heart vision. You do not have perfect vision, they do not have perfect vision, but you are all on a journey of discovery, and we who serve as your guides illuminate that search, illuminate the pathway. We give strength for you to endure the detours, to endure the setbacks, and we share in your joys when you feel affirmed in your faith through action.

You are loved as God loves you, not as other human beings love you. You are surrounded by God’s light. You are a part of that light, and all of the light that illuminates your pathway is reflected back, reflected on all sides, and that reflection, regardless of its strength, serves to increase the total light of God’s presence.

Be comforted in times of grief. Be strengthened in times of weakness. Be filled with courage when you experience doubt and fear, knowing at all times that God’s light is your light, and you are part of that brilliant spiritual presence.
