• Finding the balance of human and spiritual energies

• Nonhuman knowing life-forms

• The importance of embracing and uplifting others

You are blessed in light. You are blessed in love. You are blessed in the presence of all that is given meaning through the spirit.

In your discussions, you basically speak of the mysteries that are shared with you, mysteries not because they are not to be understood but rather mysteries that encourage you to dig more deeply into the nature of human life and the endurance of spirit. All that we share with you can be described in those two categories, for those categories are permanently connected. There is not a reality that is just human reality and a reality that is just spiritual reality. There is an exchange that takes place between human form and the presence of spiritual energy. Human life is given meaning through its spiritual connection, and it is the spiritual connection which provides the means for greater understanding, the means of finding balance. We would like to speak more about the issue of balance in life.

You are, of course, aware of those who feel that all there is in life is what is experienced through human existence, and there are those who reside on the opposite end of that spectrum who insist that nothing of the human endeavor has any purpose and that the only meaningful life is the tireless pursuit of spiritual awareness. These two realms of reality are not to be granted exclusivity. We who live only in spirit nevertheless have a connection to many aspects of human life. Our awareness of human life is essential to our growth. Human beings may seek an understanding of life by reaching out beyond what is encountered with the senses in order to engage meaningfully with what is in spirit.

You are asked at all times to seek a balance in your life. We often speak of health as a kind of physical balance, but we can also apply that relationship to issues of how you can live your life. It is not just a matter of physical health. The balance we seek for you to understand more fully is the relationship of human to spirit.

None of you have lives that have denied the importance of human life, but you have by this very activity embraced an openness to the possibility that there is a set of principles, a kind of guiding presence, that is also important in your lives. You see most graphically and poignantly the fallout that occurs when there is a denial, consciously or otherwise, of a component of life beyond merely the physical, human component.

In your own way, the fact that you are searching, seeking, and being open to other possibilities of existence is strength-giving. Your search, your efforts to see beyond the physical provide a context, provide some direction, a map as it were, that moves you in ways that are truly illuminated by the heart. You see much suffering, and that suffering can feel suffocating. It can feel totally depleting of your energies, of your faith in others. When you are surrounded by such negative energies, you can turn your view to face what is beyond you and to embrace that spiritual presence.

As a human being, you, of course, respond to life as a human being. You cannot be expected to exercise a response that resembles ours, but you can respond in human terms because of a broadening perception of context in life. You do not live in a vacuum. You do not live in a kind of isolation chamber where all that matters is what is at hand. Those who live with such a viewpoint soon feel trapped. They feel there are few alternatives available in their interaction with life. They feel that their only recourse is to take a path that seems best for them. The chosen route is what benefits them, for they feel they are in the center of life around them.

By embracing a willingness to look beyond one’s human life experiences, one’s response moves away from that center point. It is no longer about the individual. That perspective through heart vision shows clearly that human life is, in truth, best lived when it is about others. The spiritual awareness is what shifts the center of gravity from self to another. You move when you are not at the dead center of energetic activity. The further out you move from the center, that rotational movement expands and gains in energy.

If you think of a weight on the end of a string that you spin around your hand, the hand is the center of that motion, but the further out you perceive a spot on that string, the greater the movement. This is precisely the truth we wish you to understand. The more you move away from self, the greater motion you will have in spirit. You grow through that motion. It is a motion of life. It is a way of living when you insist you are not in the middle. It is that awareness of a spiritual reality beyond your life that carries the moment of your growth forward.

The energy of that momentum, that expansion of spirit we speak of, adds enormously to God’s presence in your life. The balance is between the retention in the center and the centrifugal force that moves outward. By focusing one’s life attention only to that outward rotational movement of spirit, you lose the connection to the human, to the beginning of that spiritual energy.

This binding strength between what is at the center of your growth and the expansion of your growth consists of some of these other knowing life-forms that we have spoken of in the past. The presence of these life-forms that are not human, that are not described in physical terms, is a kind of connection that provides for this balance of energies and allows your life to move forward with the heart vision that you speak so often of. When you find a balance between human and spiritual energy, the movement of spirit is given vision from the heart, not the physical heart but the heart that is formed by love. When you reach out to another in love, you are extending yourself from the center of love outward, and the movement of your life will have the energy to move forward in a direction that is guided by spirit.

It is difficult to describe fully and in human terms a reality that is essentially a spiritual reality, for there is little for you to grasp onto to grow in your understanding of something which is a part of your life and yet is perceived to be something so separate. That center of love that is the beginning of the rotation of spirit is that part of you, that part of all people, that is divine. It is that component of human life, that spark, that small entity that is fully described as being only love. The spirit that guides you from within, the part that is described as eternal, is not just that kernel of love that resides within, but it is an additional spiritual presence that is growing and permanent and grows to become ultimately all love. That growth begins from that divine spark, and in the course of human and nonhuman life, it evolves. It expands, as we have described it, and ultimately becomes only love.

So, when you reach out and commit your life not to self but to others, you are allowing the spirit that resides within to move from that kernel of love outwards, expanding the full length of that cord so that it rotates with great energy and direction and purpose. The spiritual reality becomes an integral part of what it means to live a full life as a human being. The spirit within is combined with other spiritual entities and allows that energy to move far beyond the self. But what keeps that energy centered and not have it “fly away” is that spark of God that is at the very core of everyone. If you surround yourself with a kind of impenetrable box that may appear initially to protect self, but it prevents that expansion, that moving away from the core. Yet being rooted in that core, the motion of spiritual energy that is created is denied.

If you wish to live a life of greater purpose reflecting your growing awareness of spirit, change what is important. Change your perspective. Reach out. Be committed to others, and do not restrict your energies to self. We speak so often of the need to embrace and uplift others, and perhaps this analogy of the weight on a string being spun around in a great circle will be a way of perceiving the power that comes from a love that is extended outward.

This extension to others is accomplished in many ways. It can be a direct outreach. It can be a prayerful outreach. It can be merely being present and listening to what another is expressing, not necessarily what another says but what is expressed remembering that words are merely symbols representing something beyond those words. So just listening, not asserting your opinions but being present is a way of reaching out. Often such an outreach is not possible, but prayers on behalf of another are equally beneficial, and they are an acknowledgment of another being somehow essential to you through your concerns, through your compassion, through your listening, through your being.

There is so much suffering that you are witnessing. It is not important that you choose what you hope to be the best way to reach out, for there is no judgment in terms of one form being better than another. What is important in achieving this balance of self and spirit is allowing yourself to reach out as the opportunities are provided. What is essential is you are valuing another. It is not to be seen as having to follow a prescribed means of outreach. You do what you can do. What is important is the intention.

When there are those who suffer, saying to yourself “I want to help” is in its way its own fulfillment, for you are bringing someone else into your life. You are connecting an energy binding you to another. How that energy is expressed will be different for all, but the energy is created because you are orienting your life at that moment to the betterment of another. You are offering out of love. It is not about self. It is always to be about another.

You grow through your efforts to achieve this balance, but you also grow as others seek out that balance, for you become a recipient of the spiritual energy of another. For this energy to truly be part of God’s presence, it is shared by all. When all give to one another, all benefit. When you give only to yourself, you are imploding yourself in this impenetrable container, and you are less able to benefit from the love of others offered to you.

A life of purpose, a life oriented through God’s presence, is a life of reaching out. As your guides, our lives have reason, purpose, and direction because we are focused on you. We are focused on others. The attention is not on ourselves. We grow as we give of ourselves. You grow as you give of yourself.

Be open to the needs of others. Be open to those unvoiced cries for help. Be open to offering patience when patience is in short supply. Be open to offering compassion when compassion seems absent. Be open to offering love when love appears absent. You are then living as a hand of God, and you are creating a human life that is filled with beauty, that is filled with love, and that is reaching out in all directions, flying around that sacred center of love that is within you.

You are blessed when you reach out. You are blessed when you see another with your heart. You are blessed in God’s light, and you are blessed by the presence of all guides, all forms of spirit that belong to your life and make it whole.

Amen.
