It is God at all times—there is nothing in your life, or in the lives of those you know or don’t know, that takes place without God’s presence.

Indeed, we are constantly a part of your life. We are with you in those moments of joy. We are with you in the moments of pain. We are with you in your successes in life, and we are with you in the losses you experience. Your guides and the Spirit Center that you refer to as God embrace each of you individually just as we embrace all—all human beings, all that is animate and inanimate, all that exists in body, all that exists in spirit. We embrace and we surround one another with what is needed. We support fellow guides. We guide one another. We provide comfort for one another. We provide light and balance for one another.

Yes, spirits that join our form of life also have needs. A life of the spirit is not merely a life in which all is forever perfect. We learn. We grow. We experience our own challenges. We find our energies divided as we serve one another and as we serve you.

When we guide your life, we function not as the sole source of such guidance but rather as a means of connecting your soul to the Spirit Center, to God. Our function in your life is both active and passive. We are active in our efforts to help you fully acknowledge the reality of a full life after human life, but we are also acting in a passive sense in that we serve as a means of focusing the incredible loving Light that is all around you so that your soul may find true comfort in that Light. We are not the source of the Light; we are the transmitters of that Light.

Just as we have both active and passive purposes, so do each of you in your lives with one another and in your personal lives. We spoke last about a kind of passive approach to service, that you serve best by listening, by sensing, by perceiving what is meant, not what is said. But you also respond to one another in an active way, for in the efforts that you exert to give comfort and provide support, to serve in countless ways, you are also functioning in the same way that we function when being active in our service.

All human beings encounter their own lives in ways that are unique to themselves. You bring much of yourself to the table, so to speak, as a way of providing meaning to your life, for your experience in life is not merely observation. It is also interpretation. That sense of being present and listening and seeing truly is a way of observing. It is a service based on your being sensitive to another.

But there is another component to service which requires you to interpret, for without the interpretation of what you observe, the observation has only limited impact. You interact with others first on knowing what is needed, but knowing the need then requires a response, and the response is asking yourself how best to interpret what you learn, what you come to know, what you experience, what you observe.

Human life is a life in all cases in which you acquire skills of interpretation. You experience something in life, and you ask yourself what does it mean? Is it important? Is it helpful? Is it harmful? There are judgments which are appropriate. You know that you don’t judge another, but you also know you can judge the validity and appropriateness of the actions of another, recognizing always that that judgment, that interpretation, is in itself always subject to change. When you interpret what you feel is appropriate as a response to what you sense and learn, it is important that you never feel that such interpretation, such judgment, is final, perfect, all-seeing, and all-knowing, for no human being has been gifted with one hundred percent accurate interpretation. That is part of the learning that is acquired in human life. The value of what you learn is related directly to the validity of your interpretation, and as that interpretation evolves, your understanding evolves.

It is easy for human beings to come to conclusions about all matter of things and then remain with those, believing that the work is done, the insight is secure, is perfect, is clear, and the actions that you take as a result of those perfect and clear perceptions are in themselves no longer subject to change, but that is not the purpose of human life. You’re asked to evolve. You’re asked to go through changes. You’re asked to make those changes you can make that are beneficial to all. You’re asked to be vigilant, to not fall into a kind of groove in which all things are interpreted in the same way.

Your experiences in life are such that you carry them forward. They become a part of who you are, not what you do but who you are. That aspect of who you are also belongs to who your soul is. It is not a question of if you have a soul. It is only a matter of how that soul grows.

The insight you gain is also insight for the spirit. Your chief guide was joined with your soul for the very purpose of learning from your life as well as helping to guide your life. It is a give and take. Your guides direct and they evolve, and they evolve through your own life. Part of the lessons of your life then remain a part of your guides, but those lessons also remain a part of your own spirit.

We have spoken on numerous occasions about reincarnation, experiencing another kind of life. Many of you have experienced many lives. There are some who have experienced fewer life-forms. When you exist in human form, you bring to that form of energy, human life, part of what had been your experiences before. Were this not so, every soul would begin with the first step in each incarnation. You grow, and you take the growth from one life and apply it once more, and in those subsequent experiences as human beings, you will find when you consider them that there are certain unexplainable reactions that you have to life. Those reactions are not random. They have a basis. They have an origin. It is not so important that you understand what the origin of those reactions may be, but it is important to acknowledge that your own life experiences in human form are shaped in part by your previous experiences.

Human life exists in a kind of continuum. The life of the soul connected to human life is not the consequence of experiencing a life connection in a prior time as a life-form that is radically different from your human form. You do not experience spiritual growth by beginning as a blade of grass. Your spirit evolves from a life force that seeks an understanding of God, of a Spiritual Being beyond one’s direct experience. That progression of growth, that change, that evolution of the spirit is continuous. There is no break. When you are no longer experiencing the human life-form as you know it, your soul continues to evolve, and it may be that it becomes connected again to human life, bringing with it what it has learned from prior connections. The life of spirit does not cease. It grows, evolves, changes, and it changes because of what it has learned. That is an important lesson for each of you.

You cannot go through human life thinking only of your spiritual selves. You engage with life around you as human beings, but you can take away from this understanding of growth the necessity of being willing to change, being willing to alter your perceptions, your interpretations, allowing those changes to occur because of the growth in that passive component of serving others. That growth is a result of your perception of life around you. The deeper the perception, the more profound the response.

It is true that how you respond to your life around you has been impacted by prior life experiences of the spirit. Embrace those changes that take place. Allow yourself the luxury of moving beyond where you are in your interaction with life around you. The challenges of that life evolve. The lives you experience collectively and individually are far different from the human experience that you would characterize as being from the distant past. You know intellectually that time does not exist in spirit, but you also know that you evolve and change. The change is certain. The components of time are never in themselves unchanged.

Part of that change that you experience in life is the change in your encounter with nature, with the earth, and with the encounters humankind will have with other celestial bodies. Just as you evolve and change, so does the earth and so does everything that has been created by God. As you know, even the universe goes through enormous changes, and although you may not see specific changes, you see the result of those changes. That evolving of human life is not unlike the evolving that occurs within your universe and within countless other universes. That sense of change applies to all. Your Earth is evolving. There are forces that are part of the earth’s self and there are forces that are imposed upon the earth, just as there are changes that are your changes and there are changes that are imposed upon you.

Human beings have a place in the evolution of the earth, but human beings cannot change the true nature of a physical element that is moving through space and time. You have impact, yes, but there are forces far beyond the human impact that have the greatest control on the changes that occur. The earth existed and will exist far beyond the history of human life. Human life is not permanent. It was not part of the creation of the earth, and as the earth evolves on its own scale of human measured time, human life will no longer have an impact. The reality of human life on Earth is a brief reality.

As you envision human life, there is no need to believe the presence of human life on Earth will conclude in any sense of what “soon” could imply. Therefore, the association of human life and the earth is an important association. Human beings must respond in appropriate ways that assure the continuation of the human form of life for the foreseeable future. But as the earth changes and the nature of human life changes, human life as you currently recognize it will evolve into a very different kind of energy.

You in your own way are a part of that future energy just as the energy from the stars is a part of your energy. No energy is destroyed. It only experiences transition. Energy, human energy and nonhuman energy, continues to change, continues to offer its own responses. In a way, you could say that all that exists in some way is interpreting, in other words is responding, to whatever it is surrounded by.

The fact that human life evolves, that spiritual life evolves, that the lives of planets, stars, galaxies, and universes evolve all point to the absolute truth that there is nothing that exists that is static. These changes are not to be feared. These changes are part of the reality of the Spirit Center, part of what has been created. They are to be embraced. You are part of those changes. You are asked to allow yourself to be flexible, to be willing to alter your perceptions, to recognize that you evolved from what you had been, through what you are, toward all that you shall become.

You are growing in spirit. You are growing in your perception of truth. You’re growing in your understanding of God’s presence. You’re growing in your acceptance of being guided by a spiritual reality of life that exists beyond your view, beyond your understanding. Bring that evolution of your own spirit into your vision so that you see life around you as spirit and not just with a limited view of the human experience.

You are blessed in your growth, in the changes that take place. You are blessed in your efforts to know more of God’s place in your life and the place of your life in the firmament of All That Is.
