• Personal growth depends on growth of others
• The power of prayer and loving thoughts
• Interpreting predictions of impending doom
The light of God shines upon each of you, and your souls do resonate with the power of God’s presence and the joy of God’s love.
It is so often the case that when you are assembled you become increasingly aware of the fact that you, with your families and in your own life, are at yet another crossroad. The dilemmas and choices that you make are an important ingredient in the development of your souls. Despite their importance, however, the time spent at points of decision is not always an easy time, for life offers so many directions, so many choices, so many options, so many possibilities. You share in the joint concern for making the right decisions, for allowing the right things to happen, for being open to receiving the right guidance, for knowing the right things to do, the right things to say, the right things to feel. The list is an endless one, but you do see the variety of choices that face you.
The fact that you are experiencing more crossroads, more decisions, should be welcomed by you, for you grow through your approach to decision making. You don't grow when you remain constantly on the same course with no challenge from any side. You merely move through life, but it is the growth for which you are given your lives. It is not for movement that you experience the human condition. Your lives are given to you for growth—the growth of your soul and the growth of the souls of others. What is best for you is not just what benefits you but what benefits another, for you grow as another grows, you grow as a family grows, as a community grows, as a country.
Growth is not isolated. It is integrated between all that you observe and experience. To grow spiritually means more than having the knowledge. It also means more than using the knowledge that you have. Real growth spiritually is achieved when another grows as a result of how you use what you know. To put it more simply, you grow only as another grows. Your responsibilities, therefore, are really to others and not just to yourselves.
We have emphasized in the past the need for your own development, your receptivity, your experience of love. That is the first step which must be taken for you to give love to another, but your actions must have an impact on the soul of another. This impact you cannot always observe, but it must be a component of life for ultimate growth to be achieved. If you dedicate your lives to the strengthening of someone else, you're dedicating your lives to the highest purpose, for that kind of unselfish giving, making a difference, enhancing another, is precisely what moves you forward spiritually.
If you have all knowledge and live on an island and spend your time in thoughtful contemplation without praying on behalf of another, without the opportunity of doing something that directly benefits another, you are denying the opportunity for growth for which you were given life. Knowledge is useless per say. It only becomes a powerful force when it is applied and makes a difference.
You can live alone and yet benefit the life of another through prayer. By imagining another being healed and strengthened, you are healing and strengthening. When thinking of another with love, you are giving love to another. When you pray for spiritual healing as well as physical healing, both the soul and the body benefit. You do not always have to do something physical for another, but it is how you direct your thoughts and prayers that is really the most beneficial.
Prayer is always more powerful than physical action, and yet it is often unrecognized. You pray that another may be healed, but you may be unaware of the healing that takes place, for the healing is not a physical healing but a spiritual one. The healing may be manifest through patience, through peace, through being a loving presence—that can be a great healing. But that peace, that acceptance, that sense of God in life is not worn casually on the sleeve. It is kept within. It gives meaning to the perception of life. It is not observed as some kind of ornament which is placed upon a life.
And so, dear friends, your abilities to enhance the life of another will be fulfilled without your recognition. You must, however, believe in the power of prayer, in the power of loving thoughts, in the power of supportive thoughts. In your desire for another to experience peace, you are in effect creating an environment for peace that may be experienced by another. Your impact upon another's life, therefore, is direct though often unobserved. It is meaningful because it gives strength to another soul. You are strengthened by the strength that is received by another.
When you express love toward another, do you not feel love yourself? It is not just given away—it is experienced. If one expresses a negative comment to another, what takes place is not just the comment being transmitted, but you yourself are feeling the negativism which you express. When you express love, you are thereby also experiencing love. It is in this way that your souls grow because you enhance the soul of another.
The responsibility for interaction between people is therefore undeniable. Your lives are given meaning as you give meaning to another's life. You are then affirmed as you affirm someone else. You are being nourished as you nourish someone. Nourishment has no meaning if it is only something taken in. There is no purpose in being nourished alone. There is no purpose in life lived totally alone—not in a physical sense, but in a spiritual sense. There are many who are alone physically but who are active throughout the world spiritually. That is a meaningful life as well.
You had wondered about channels who are told by their guides of impending doom, changes in the world that affect human life—whether or not these are valid receptors of God's guidance. We can assure you that there are many paths of communication to God. There are many languages which are spoken and there are many languages which are understood spiritually. Those who receive guidance of changes in the earth are also aware of the importance of human life to those changes ,and it is a way of reinforcing the recognition that human life does not exist alone from the creation of God.
The earth is continually changing. The atmosphere changes. Those changes do have an effect on human life. What is important is not the timing of when those changes take place, for time is relative. Time is something that the human condition overlays above and around the activity of life, but time itself is meaningless. So the timing of what is communicated is not so important.
What is important is that all will understand the relationship between the changes in the earth and human life, and this understanding is of a strong connection between all that has been created. Life is interactive so that what you do affects your world. What you do as a nation affects your environment. The environment that affects your nation interacts with the environmental elements throughout the world, so that you and the environment are indeed a single unit. There is an interdependency. There is a relationship where one is influenced by the other. This relationship works both ways. That is what is really important.
What happens to the earth specifically is of less importance than your sense of connection to all that has been created. It is a system of life that you are experiencing. Your human lives are influenced directly by the environment. Your physical well-being is determined to a great extent by what is provided for you to eat. That is dependent upon the condition of the soil, which is dependent upon the weather, which is dependent upon the atmosphere, which is dependent upon how the human condition affects the atmosphere.
If the content of the messages or communications offered by numerous channels emphasizes this interdependence, then you can be assured that that channel is clear and reliable and whoever listens to that is being guided by God just as you are being guided by God. When individuals claim with great fury that a particular event is going to happen on a certain date and that such event will have a given effect on all of humanity, the sense of urgency that results because of the time frame is an overlay put into place by human thought, not by the guides. Your interdependence is what is important, not what happens on a particular date.
You will not be experiencing the complete destruction of the world in your lifetimes. This is not what lies ahead. But the world is changing, it is evolving still, and the life-forms that ride upon the globe must adapt. Those forms that adapt survive. Those forms that do not adapt become extinct. It is not God's wish that humans become extinct, but it is true over the millennia that humans change, that adaptation must take place and will take place.
So there are changes to be expected. Those changes are slow, steady, and necessary. Knowing of these changes should not create fear, but recognizing the need for changes should instill in everyone an understanding of the relationship of human life and all that has been created by God. That is what is essential.
Your lives are blessed beyond what you recognize. Each of you has been given opportunities. Each of you has taken those opportunities and run with them. Each of you has turned your back on opportunities and rejected them and those opportunities are gone. But your blessings continue. Your opportunities will continually be presented to you. It is up to you to be open to them when they appear, to bring them into your lives so that you may grow by converting them into affirming actions that give glory to the soul of another.
These blessings are constant. They are not rewards. They are not granted because of anything you have done. They are just there for you. Draw from this fruit. Take its nourishment. Look for opportunities to affirm the life of others. Look for opportunities to strengthen the life of another. Recognize the power of prayer as the great enabler which provides the strength for another, and you will in turn be strengthened, given greater light, and an abiding sense of peace and harmony among all that surround you.
Our prayers are for your strength. We are strengthened by your receptivity. Our prayers are for your peace. We are given peace as you learn to be peaceful. Our prayers are for your growth in love, and we in turn become more loving through your growth. We receive the blessing of God—God’s power, God’s warmth, God’s constant guidance—and that blessing is given meaning and purpose as you learn to accept God’s strength. Be strengthened by that intense light and constant love of God.
Amen.
