• Achieving balance in relationships which are the product of perceptions
• Living in health of spirit
God, who is the source of all that is good, who is the energy that has created all that exists, is with you and all people at this time and always.
You spoke and shared together about what it means to be connected, what it means to have a wider heart vision, the peripheral vision that we have spoken of. But as you work to bring into your life the teachings of these lessons, it is crucially important that you seek a kind of visual balance or equilibrium. We would like to focus your thoughts on that equilibrium, for it is exercised through the ways you interact with others, the ways you accept yourselves.
We have spoken often of equilibrium as a kind of understanding of what we refer to as health. We have spoken of physical health not as a reaching of perfection but one of finding a balance of sorts that connects your experiences to the presence of God’s hand. But at this time, we would like to explore more about that health, specifically the health of relationships.
You have spoken frequently with one another about the frustrations you feel surrounding relationships that you learn of as well as experience in a personal way. You know of the indisputable fact that all human beings are equal. All are a part of the whole, and all share in that sense of belonging, but nevertheless, there is still much to learn about achieving a balance in your relationships with those who are close to you as well as those who you hardly know. It is one thing to feel in principle that singleness of existence, but it is very different to exercise that principle in your daily life.
Any relationship, whether or not it is close, is a consequence of what is perceived to be the truth. That may be the truth regarding what someone does or someone says or someone believes. Those relationships that you have begin with perception. When that perception is aligned with your own beliefs, then the relationship, the connection to another, is smooth and unfettered. But when your perception leads you to focus your energies on differences rather than similarities, you are not fully embracing your brother, your sister, your fellow human being. You are not embracing another participant in the reality of life.
How is it then that you can perceive others, that you can perceive events in a way that is ultimately beneficial for all? We have said in the past and it bears repeating, God is present at all times in all ways. There is nothing that is experienced, there is no action taken, no opinions expressed that occur in the shadow void of illumination by God’s presence. There is nothing that exists that is without God. You may find actions and words to be suspect or deeply offensive, but it is for you to draw upon the presence of spirit to fully acknowledge that even if you cannot perceive it, God is present. God belongs to what is happening. God belongs to what is said. God belongs to all people, all nations, or religions, all philosophies. Everything is bathed in that light.
When you water plants in the garden with great care, and you do all in your power to facilitate growth, no two plants emerge from the soil at the same moment with the same shape in the same condition. They grow as they grow, and although a farmer may wish that such growth be achieved at a certain level in a given timeframe, those plants, the crops, whatever, will grow as they grow. You can provide the best care, but one’s growth will be independent from the growth of another.
So it is with God’s light. All human beings begin their human existence being bathed in the spiritual light, but each person evolves differently. The growth of some may seem rapid and positive. Some may be perceived as growing more slowly and be somehow malformed physically or emotionally, in some way not meeting the expectation of others. Those differences between people are unimportant to the spirit, for they are imbued with the same presence of spirit as all others.
That sense of perception on a human scale is often deeply flawed, for you may expect a certain kind of growth in another. The source of this imbalance, therefore, rests with you. Of course, you may not approve of what another may say or do, for that is very natural. But you cannot discount another person, another community, another society because it is not consistent with your own expectations. The central issue of living a life that is in balance is a matter that is in your own hands. It is not something imposed upon others.
Living in health of spirit means that you perceive life around you as filled with God’s light. You see others who suffer tragically and seemingly unending in its reality, but that suffering is only suffering in your perceptions as well as their own.
When you feel that you have been misunderstood or maligned in one way or another, it is easy to rise up in anger and frustration. That response, although understandable, is not a response in balance. Yes, you may feel misunderstood. Yes, you may be in fact misunderstood. But those misunderstandings, what you observe and feel personally, are only a small detour in your own life, and as you seek to move ahead in the light, it is important to accept those perceptions for what they truly are, momentary detours on your path.
Sometimes you feel misunderstood by others when in fact, you are being supported by another. You may experience the loving support of someone else as being contrary to what you expect, but sometimes being lovingly supportive means embracing another and leading them with love in a slightly different direction.
As we think of perceptions and living a life in balance, a part of that understanding is your willingness to reach out to those with whom you have difficulties. Reaching out lovingly, what you offer may not be received with equanimity or gratitude. It may be resented. You may be faced with anger and feel there is no God in this relationship, but it is indeed God who is part of that relationship, and your perception of conflict, of disagreement, is not a clear vision of what is in fact taking place. It is merely how you experience it.
Living a life that is more in balance, that is healthy, is one of breaking down expectations placed upon others so that you can feel even briefly a kinship, a connection, a shared purpose, an acknowledgement that each is in the light of God’s presence. Living in balance enables you to do what you can that is in your own abilities, and living in balance is acknowledging that others are doing what they can based on their capabilities at the moment on their own pathways.
This acknowledgment of others, other individuals, societies, belief systems does not require you to agree but to accept the sacredness that is truly there whether or not you perceive it with your own senses. You are indeed all one, and it is true that seeing that unity may be difficult. You still need to have faith despite your perceptions or the perceptions of others that you are equally in the light, that you are equally on your journey of life, and you’re equally experiencing your own individual challenges.
Your guides belong to and share the same energy as the guides of another. More often than can be counted, you have been asked to avoid judging another’s worth, another’s value as a human being. Disagreeing with another is temporal. You have had examples in your life where you have disagreed with another and come to understand that there was indeed wisdom in what another said or did. It was your perceptions that had changed. It was not their actions, but your changing perceptions revealed an alignment that brought you together.
Living a life of balance, of health, living a life that is loving, giving, and nurturing is always based on how you perceive something outside yourself, and occasionally how you perceive yourself. That sense of perception is directly connected to what we have spoken about heart vision, peripheral vision, the ability to embrace wherever such an embrace may be possible. We ask you as you move forward in your life to perceive life around you as part of a continuum that is moving without exception toward a complete union of love, a full uniting with one another which is the embodiment of a full uniting with God.
You pray for God’s peace; live peacefully with others.
You pray for understanding; find grounds for understanding with another.
You pray to experience the presence of love; be that presence.
You pray for compassion; be compassionate.
All that you pray for in your human life is contained within you, and by broadening the heart vision, by deepening those perceptions, you will continue to find a life experience that fulfills your understanding of God’s presence.
Be the light you pray for. Accept the light of all others. Embrace the paths that all follow, and cherish the spirit that belongs to all.
You are blessed in the light. You are blessed in your expanding vision. You are blessed in your growing acceptance of all in the presence of the Spirit that has created all.
Amen.
