The light of God's presence joins you and your guides together into a single unit.

The reality of truth emanating from God is so much more complex than we can share at any one time or in a single sitting. The questions and the issues that were raised tonight concerning the manifestation of faith, choice, dreams, the direction of your future endeavor to publish—each requires much time to fully develop and yet are important considerations. It is essential that you nurture your sense of patience among each other and also patience of your own in learning of the works of God in your earthly lives. There is much yet that we are empowered to share with you, and there is much time for that sharing. You are obtaining a glimpse, a narrow view, of God's kingdom, but that view is ever widening. What is important is that you continue to look outward to the broadening view and gather meaning from that vision.

One of you has expressed her readiness to be more receptive to guidance. She is indeed fully ready and is empowered by God to be guided in a very personal way. We would suggest as a first step that she find a time when she can be absolutely still and seek a real peace from within, and dictate what she feels motivated to say. It is a slow and long process, but she is ready for that route.

Another person continues to agonize over how she may be given guidance, how to know when she is being guided, what form it will take. She must sooner or later allow herself the openness necessary to be guided. It is important, of course, for her to be still and away from the noises and distractions of nearby sources, but it is of equal importance that she still herself within. That is the greatest difficulty for her—putting aside concerns, putting aside pressures, and allowing herself to bloom as a flower does in warm sunlight. The nature of her guidance will come as insight. She has seen this happen in the past. She has felt the acceptance of peace from within, and she knows it is possible to have this same confidence, this same faith occur again. The frustrations often come from long durations of seeming silence and a lack of that peace, of feeling that somehow God is not communicating to her. The truth is that all of you have within you the capacity not only to be guided but to recognize that guidance.

Another person’s guidance comes from an intuitive sense, an inner urging, and she is aware of that. The nudges that each of you gets from your guides can be easier to detect and clearer in purpose or intent when you can become both engulfed in peace and surrounded by silence. There is no mystery to being guided. It is not a privilege reserved for a select few. It is only that some find it easier to quiet down, "center in" as you might say, than is the case with others.

We have spoken on occasion in past communions about meditation. It bears repeating to emphasize that when you become open to God's guidance through us, you must feel completely relaxed. You may feel even weightless. It is easiest when you are physically comfortable. Your concept of time leaves you and you are suspended, not so much in a trance, but rather in a feeling of complete unity with your surroundings. You are less aware of yourself as being independent of your surroundings.

Guidance is a skill. Like any other skill it takes patience and it is not achieved quickly in terms of your recognition of it. As you know, you are guided whether or not you ask for it. You may choose to follow that guidance, or you may elect to turn your back on it.

Those in society whom you would label evil are guided just as you are. The difference is that they suppress the presence of that guidance. They suppress the influence of its presence. They choose a different course of action motivated by forces which may seem stronger and more compelling.

There is evil in the world. Organized religion often refers to it as Satan. But while Satan does not exist with a long pointed tail and all the accoutrements associated to it by society, there is in fact an influence in life which is rightly referred to as evil. Part of evil is the contribution of spirits, souls, who are still dominated by earthly characteristics of selfishness, jealousy—self-centeredness in all of its expression. Not every soul who passes to our side is ready to stand up and face the brilliant light of God's presence. Some shy away into the darkness and choose to remain closer to the more familiar life experience in human form.

Such spirits who choose not to face God can have a strong influence on the lives of all human beings. It is for this reason that you are always instructed to begin such meditation being open to your guides, channeling, with a prayer. The spirits who are at large, who have temporarily turned from God, cannot function in the presence of God’s name. They can only be effective in God's apparent absence. When you wish to be guided, you must always approach the opportunity with prayer, and you will be assured that guidance will be forthcoming from your individual guide who has been given those responsibilities by God and not by the multitude of souls who still yearn for a connection with human life.

Yes, being guided is like a radio with many stations. Just as there are those who listen to many stations on a radio, there are those who make themselves open to spiritual influences devoid of the presence of God invited through prayer. The Ouija board, for instance, is one such means. We suggest that you make a sincere effort to establish some time on a regular basis for drawing strength and direction from your guides by providing an opportunity for absolute stillness. Society as you know it provides precious few opportunities for such peace. They must therefore be actively and eagerly sought after.

Your discussion this evening about the implication of dreams needs considerable more attention. We must encourage you to continue recognizing the obvious connection between dreams and spiritual life. Not all dreams emanate from or give benefit to your soul, but it is certainly true that when you are emotionally and physically free of much turmoil, even for a brief moment in the dream state you are then able to communicate with other spirits. You are able to draw strength from your guides, which we have previously alluded to. But all of this related to spiritual matters can only take place when emotional turmoil is indeed absent. It would be fair to say that most dreams are related to emotional issues rather than spiritual issues. For those who are able to rid themselves momentarily in a conscious state of emotional pressure, those individuals are more likely to have dreams which are associated with matters of the spirit.

Receiving guidance from God requires the same setting aside of frustrations and anxieties in both conscious and sleep states, for the nature of spiritual communication between your guides and you is the same whether you are asleep or awake. Spiritual help is not offered one way in one state and in a different way in an altered state. Spirits communicate among themselves in the only way open to them and that is through love. This means of communication is constant in nature, but it intensifies in value as one proceeds through the different spheres of spiritual life.

At the point when spirit becomes totally one with God's light, that bond is total love. It is that love which unites your guides with one another. It is that love which unites us with you, and it is God's will that it be that love that unites you with all humankind. No matter what stage in your development, it is love which binds all together. Only the intensity changes, but not the substance. The love remains.

There is much on your minds tonight which you have not expressed in prayer openly, and your guides are fully aware of those concerns as well as thanksgivings. We really charge each of you with establishing a clear means for recognizing God's guidance, the specific nature of which will be different of course for each person. But we are here to be with you. We are here to serve you. We are here to give meaning to your lives. We are here to provide meaning of the lives of others to your life. Inasmuch as you can open your channel of receptivity to what we freely offer, your lives will proceed with greater peace, greater assurance of God's guiding hand in all that you're doing.

It is not enough just to know that somewhere God is at hand. It is incumbent upon you to actively provide a stronger, more open means for receiving the light of God’s presence into your own lives. Pray for peace, peace within, for by achieving that inner peace you will be more able to receive God's guidance. It is not just a platitude. It is a challenge based on truth for each of you.

Our love for you is unending. Our prayers, yes, our prayers for you are unceasing. There is nowhere that you can go, nothing that you can do that will hide you from God's light focused through us on your souls and thereby your life. The union is permanent. It is never ceasing and can only grow more brilliant.

Have faith in your ability to be guided. Have faith in the presence of God in your lives. Have faith in your ability to center in and be receptive. We do pray for the courage to act according to what you are given to know by God, and we rejoice with every opportunity we have of joining as a group of guides among your collected souls.
