Inspired Wisdom For Your Life

• How guides are connected to humans

• Soul growth in the here and hereafter

• Nature of time and light

God, as you identify the Spirit Center, is with you. God is with each of you in your times of need, in your times of rejoicing, in your cries for help, and in your thanksgiving for blessings that you are aware of. The help, the insight, the understanding is available to you at all times. It is not merely on occasion of your gathering together for this purpose. All of you, all human beings, have the capability of knowing, seeing, hearing spiritual reality that all of you share with the total creation.

We have spoken to you often about matters of human life, but we would like to speak to you about matters of the spirit, matters of our life, for each of you shares the common future, the destiny, the goal that is, in fact, our current experience.

There is no time, there is no future, there is no past. All exists in the here and now. It is for that reason that we are able to communicate, for there is no distance, there is no physical barrier, there is no separation between you and God, between you and those who have gone before whom you love, between you and your guides. Every individual has many guides, but there is one with whom you most often can communicate. The multiplicity of guides consists of the souls of all you have loved. We have said that those souls are permanently connected to you. By that we mean permanently connected to your spirit center, your soul. Because of that connection, the change in energy between human life and spiritual life has no effect on the reality of this continuing relationship.

All of us who are your guides collectively are in some way connected to you personally. For some, your guides are comprised of relatives; for others, friends. For others, the connection is through a common heritage of engagement, an engagement of issues, an engagement of commitment. Each soul in human life has individual needs and individual strengths, and it is your guides that are matched to those needs, strengths, commitments. It is not by accident that we are given the opportunity to be your guide. It is not a matter of drawing a spiritual lot and being assigned to a spirit accompanying human form. We choose…we choose on the basis of your light, for your light is an energy and that energy pulsates, it resonates, and those of us who are connected resonate, pulsate sympathetically. We move, as it were, as one with you. It is therefore never a burden, never a chore, never an inconvenience to be attached to any soul accompanying human life.

Our attachment, our connection to you is actually a connection to your spirit. It is not a connection to the body. It is unimportant whether you are male/female, young/old, black/white, brown/yellow. It is not important that you live as part of God’s creation on a body that you call earth, for these are matters of physical description and location and do not have a bearing on your own identity as a spirit.

We see you as an energy. That energy has characteristics that we are aware of. We recognize fear. We recognize rejoicing. We recognize compassion. We recognize all emotions that you have, for although those emotions are an immediate function of the human brain, they are given character, they are given an identity, they are given an energy, positive or negative, through the presence of the soul. When you are angry or experience self-pity, we know that.

You are already aware of how your energy level changes based on your particular emotional tone. When you are enthusiastic and filled with joy, you feel more energy, you feel more alive, you feel affirmed, you feel enabled. But when you are surrounded by a sense of need, of deprivation, when you are surrounded by pain, by worry, you can feel a reduced energy. We, likewise, see that difference in energy.

The light that we have is quite understandably brighter, more intense, more positive, more loving, more compassionate. And it is because of our light that we are able to light and affirm your spirit, just as intense light is able to illuminate and give color to what is otherwise subdued and dark. A dark light never has the energy of one that is bright. Brightness, one could say, always outlives, outshines what is dark, what is negative.

Your opportunity in human life is to throw open the shutters and let the light come in. When you open the shutters from a dark room, darkness does not spread. It is the light that moves in. This light is much like our light on your soul. Your souls are not dark, but they contain less brilliance at the moment. And so by opening those shutters, you are allowing God’s light, our light, to enter, illuminate, warm and support your own intrinsic light energy.

We evolve as spirits just as you do. Our evolution is not unlike the development that takes place in school. We grow in our means of instruction, and in the process we become more loving. Our growth is measured and recognized by our own light. We evolve in our own spirituality, for we evolve in our ability to transmit love. We evolve in our ability to help you to become loving and ultimately to transmit love to another. Our sole purpose at this stage in our own spiritual development is to focus God’s brilliance upon you. We can do this, of course, without your direct help, but allowing yourselves to be open facilitates our ability to provide light, to provide an energy that is energy for your growth and also for ours.

We enter many stages in our spiritual development. When a soul joins us, that soul is not yet a full energy level participant in the greatness and totality that is God, just as you are not full participants. You are not fully God. You are evolving and becoming God, and you are God to the extent that you share something in common with God… your spiritual center. But you do evolve in human form and we evolve in our own spiritual life.

There is no sense of time for us. We are not aware of a sense of great distance. We are not aware of a sense of difference between souls. None of that is part of our experience. Consequently, we do not measure our growth as taking place over a long period of time. We do not measure our growth as taking place here versus there, however those terms are defined. We simply are growing. We simply are becoming stronger.

How long have we been here? For us, that is never an issue. For some human beings, it is essential to know who their guides are, when they lived, what they did in human life. For such individuals, if that information is critical to their accepting our reality, then that information is shared. But the truth that is important to acknowledge is not who we were, but what we are. It is the present, the total, all-enveloping presence, that is important.

You, as human beings, are developing. It is unimportant how quick or how slow, or when your development began. All of those are temporal questions, but your soul does not live in a temporal existence, and therefore there is no meaning to that concept for us. As we grow, we realize that growth occurs through service to other souls…other souls in human bodies or souls in our plane of existence. It is not who we are but rather it is what is done for others that defines our growth spiritually. We do not recognize, “This soul happens to be highly developed because it knows so much.” We only recognize, “This soul gives love unconditionally.” That is all that is recognized.

How is it measured? Is there a lot of love and less love? Of course not, but love is a form of energy, and as we evolve the energy of the love that we become far outshines the energy that was our effort to become loving. The light of love is always brighter than the light of loving. The more you are surrounded by the light of love, the brighter your light of loving becomes. When you are being loving and opening the shutters, the light of love transforms what is loving into being pure love. Our light, therefore, is engaged in a process of transforming one set of energy vibrations into another.

Perhaps this sounds very technical or objective or analytical. The reality of our spiritual growth is far more complicated and has many more layers to it than can be adequately understood through human intellect. But if you perceive love as light energy, you are much closer in your understanding of the true reality of spiritual growth.

You experience light in two dimensions. You experience light as something you see. You experience intense light as something you feel, for light that is intense can be felt as warmth. Indeed, you understand that if light is intense enough, it is capable of burning through any material. So light is bright and light is warm, but light for us has many more levels of recognition.

As you know, we recognize each other through our light. Until we become absolute Love, there are always differences in the light emitted from each soul. Once a soul becomes pure Love, the light is absolutely white. There is no distinction of any kind of one white light from another. All is unified. All is so intense that there is no room for darkness. There is no room for anything but total Love. This is our evolution, this is our growth.

When we join you in one form or another, either as a guide or as a spirit experiencing human life as your own soul, learning takes place. There is a purpose for all learning. That purpose, as you know, is to become Love itself. When a soul joins a human life to experience and be nurtured by that human life, the soul is open to the influences of other spirits, the souls of those individuals around them. No soul is actually given human life in order to teach another spirit. Each soul is given life to learn. But in the process of learning, each soul influences, has an impact on, illuminates another soul. As a result, your own soul grows and develops as a consequence of its encounter with other souls.

You know that you must grow through your interaction with others and that your growth is not just an activity done alone. Understanding this, it is possible to believe that one soul is served by another. It is therefore not an untrue belief to acknowledge that there is a purpose in life that a given soul may have in the development of another. You may compare this to your own human exchanges between one another. The purpose of individual “A” is not to be there to improve individual “B”. The purpose of individual “A” is to be there. The effect on individual “B” is up to the receptivity of that second individual. When individual “B” is receptive and welcoming, then the influence of “A” upon “B” is undeniable.

Your purpose in life as you engage with others is to be there. It is not for you to change another. It is not for you to take responsibility, to assure that another acts or behaves one way or another. You are to be merely there. You are to be loving. Being loving can be rejected by another; it can be accepted by another. It is not your responsibility. You can view this from the other side of the equation. An individual offers you loving support. You can reject it out of pride, out of fear, out of suspicion. That is your choice. You can decide to welcome it. You can decide to allow yourself to be vulnerable and in the process to be shaped and molded through the presence of another loving spirit. The choice of how one spirit is affected by another is indeed a choice. It is not the responsibility of the other to impose a refinement or enhancement upon you.

This view of our spiritual growth we offer not in a vacuum, but as a means of giving you a model, an example of how you can approach your own lives, your own opportunities. It may form part of how you relate to others, your sense of presence without obligation, your ability to allow others to respond or not to respond without your own feeling of guilt or failure or insufficiency. You must allow your lives to evolve naturally without forcing. Allow your human lives to be directed through your own personal awareness of your own spirit center. If you feel guided, as you might say, to be present in the life of another, then follow that guidance. You may not know what impact that will have, and it is not important for you to surround that encounter with expectations. It is only important that you be there, that you be present, and that you be open. Respond to those nudges of your spirit.

Acknowledge the need of your spirit to grow through association with your human life. Your human experiences are important. A human life is not permanent but it is essential for your soul. Your soul chose to accompany you on this journey and that accompaniment works in two directions: the soul nourishes and guides a human life, but the human experience brings depth and understanding to the spirit. Both are essential to one another.

Nourish your soul. Allow your soul to bring light to your life. Rejoice in God’s loving presence as it is absorbed by and reflected by your own spirit center! We are blessed by your human nourishment of our presence, and we are strengthened by your prayers for us, just as we strengthen you through our presence in your loving life.

Amen.
