God embraces and comforts and uplifts each of you as you open your souls to that loving presence.

You do indeed approach this opportunity for reflection from many different perspectives. There is much that you share together and there is much that you experience in an individual way as you encounter your lives illuminated by God. You are on your own journeys. Your paths are uniquely your own, and yet they are permanently joined together. It may be easier to understand within a group of this size, but the same truth applies to all human beings.

Every soul shares in the experience of being connected to the lives of those who occupy this earth. You are joined in common movement. The objective of complete union with God is shared by every soul. You share this commonality regardless of nationality or religious design or personal experience. Those, of course, are different, but what you share is infinitely more important and that common sharing knows no end. What you share is what is permanent.

Every human being experiences joy, sadness, fear, love, anxiety—a limitless number of emotions. For some, the choice is balanced more in one direction and for others, the emphasis has different character. But there is nothing that you individually experience which is unexperienced by another. Too often you are concerned about what we see to be your differences, and too seldom are you occupied by what you share with all other human beings.

Every human being is inhabited by a soul whose growth is unstoppable to becoming part of the single entity of love and light that you call God, that others may address in some other fashion. Because your souls are directed toward achieving a complete state of love, fully developed, all-embracing, your lives will be shaped to a greater or lesser degree by that movement. There are human beings whose lives seem not to reflect what it is you seek. Regardless of the difficulty that results, you must always maintain a recognition that they and you are absolutely equal in the heart of God.

Your souls, your spirits, grow eagerly and with intention and with a sense of direction. It is much like the needle of a compass that points toward magnetic north. No matter where you are, the needle points. And so it is in your own lives. No matter where you are in your life’s journey, no matter what character your human journey takes, the soul within you constantly points toward the proper direction. If you move one way or another away from the path, the spirit still points to God. When you travel with a compass, you can either consult it or ignore it. If you consult it, the compass guides your direction. If you ignore it, the compass still points. All you need to do is look at it and you will know where to head. There are many crossroads that you encounter in your human experience, and at each of these crossroads you are given a choice: look at the compass or ignore it. Your soul, your spirit center or simply “spirit,” is the compass you can rely on. It is your guide as you travel your own pathways.

Ultimately, all souls arrive at the same destination. They may begin that journey far apart from one another, but the destination of God is certain. It is the nature of the soul to be drawn to the Spirit Center. That is why it is a center. There is a kind of spiritual gravitational pull that brings you all together.

You wonder whether that compass, that spirit, can be changed, can be worn out, can be in need of rest. How sure are you that your spirit is unchanging? We can respond to this question very clearly. First of all, your soul remains with you always, but we can also tell you that there are times when another soul joins together with your spirit center and can have great impact upon your life. There can indeed be a change of emphasis. But when a soul chooses to accompany a human life, that soul is a part of God. At no time, regardless of your life condition, does God tire and pull away. God’s presence in your life, the life of every human being, is constant. But God also provides each of you with your own spirit guides. Those guides change but God is always present. When you consider the spirit center that all human beings possess, that center never changes but that center may be joined by others, other spirits who come to assist and help redirect, reaffirm or change.

In actuality, your spirit center, your soul, is never alone. Your soul receives support and also guidance from other spirit entities. The mission, the goal, of each soul connected to a human being is growth. The teachers for that growth are multiple. The soul grows through its association with you, but the soul also grows through its association with other spirits, other particles of God. This growth is not linear; it is multi- directional. Every soul evolves through human interaction and spiritual direction. So it is very natural that each human being can be the recipient of the loving spiritual presence of more than a single soul. When you attend a school, you do not learn from only one teacher.

Your soul grows in human life, but can you imagine what lessons you teach your soul? When you are angry, are you teaching anger? When you are discouraged or fearful, are you teaching discouragement and fear? Clearly you are not, but the soul in its own course of development responds to your fears, your anxieties, and that response is given direction through the presence of other souls.

If you are gravely ill, it is common for your soul to be joined by a community of spirits which strengthen spiritual energy within and help guide the spirit center on its own journey through the human suffering that is encountered. When you are discouraged, when you are ill, you need the sustaining love of others. It is the same system in spirit. We all live in a community of love, a community of light, a community of support, a community of learning. We live in a community of teaching. There is much that we do that is connected with other spirits.

We ask you so often to be aware of the importance of community in your own lives. You do not live alone. You may choose to live an isolated life, but you are nevertheless with others. The value of your growth and the growth of your soul being connected to community is a principle of spiritual growth that applies to all spirits, all souls. We exist completely in spirit, and yet we exist totally in community. When a soul chooses to become a part of human life, that community is not abandoned. It is therefore very reasonable and understandable to sense a change in the energy of spirit, in the intensity or direction of the spirit. A realigning of the path taken by humans still brings all toward unity with God. Every journey requires a readjustment. The spiritual readjustment is a part of that very natural process.

You ask also about the necessity for great tribulation in order to realign the course of society, indeed, the course of humankind. There is truth to this for you know the need for balance. In order to achieve balance there must be a commitment to its need. Without that commitment, the achievement that is sought is lost. There is therefore a natural swing that brings you closer to commitment. When you follow the compass and you recognize you are heading a direction other than what you seek, the further off you are from your path, the more committed you become in rectifying that direction. Humankind goes through many cycles, but individuals also experience similar cycles on a smaller scale.

If you wish to achieve a goal as an individual, your attention to the urgency of that goal is increased considerably when you depart from the direction that you should pursue. It is, as you would call it, a “wake-up call.” It is a reaffirmation of the necessity for redirection. When you are slightly off course, you can think it is close enough, but being slightly off course for a long journey means you miss your goal by a wide margin. When you recognize already that you are far off the mark, you redouble your efforts and increase your awareness of what needs to be done to get where you want to go. This happens in society. This happens in characterizing much of human life. It is natural for human beings to be lulled into confidence when no urgency is felt.

The cycles that you ask about are an important component of the human experience. There is great truth to an acknowledgment that what delineates a new cycle is not an end but a reaffirmed beginning. Your lives are filled with those moments when you decide which direction you shall follow. You must ask yourself frequently, “Is this leading where I wish to go? Do I feel led by God or by my own temporal objectives?” Allow yourself the gift of self-examination, of reassessment, a clearing of the vision, an uncluttering of the path. You will then see more clearly where you as individuals, where you as a society can move forward in a fulfilling direction that leads to the love and the peace that is the goal for each of you.

We, your guides, are always with you. We have said before that when your chief guide is changed, we are still a part of your growth. You are never abandoned by your guides. You are never abandoned by your spirit center, changes that are meant for your growth and your development, changes that lead toward peace. Be aware of the changes of spirit, but have no fear of the departure of spirit. You are never left alone. Your spirit never abandons, but rather other souls join you in your journey and lift you up and carry you across.

Your lives are blessed with your awareness of spirit. Rejoice in the knowledge, engage your vision toward love and peace, and know that we are with you always.
