Inspired Wisdom For Your Life

BACK TO INDEX

July 18, 2012

• Hearing God speak

• All human thoughts and actions impact all that is

• Synchronicities are evidence of the actions of God

• Life moves toward balance

God speaks. God listens. God acts. All of these characteristics belong to the Spirit Center you identify as God. God speaks through each of you. God speaks through the guides. God speaks in these moments when you are gathered together. But also God speaks when you are alone, when you are quiet, when you experience darkness as well as light. God speaks constantly, for God’s presence is constant. God speaks because God Is. God is never silent. There is no ultimate silence. There is only a voice of love.

When you are open to these communications, these communions, these messages, you are collectively open to God speaking. Each of you, each of you, can hear God, for each of you knows from experience what it means to be loved unconditionally. That love is the speech of God. It is not merely a speech of words, but it is a speech of presence.

Often you are asked to pray, but in the act of praying not to formulate those prayers into words, but merely to be open, to listen, to hear the speech of God. You can hear the speech of God when you are alone in nature, in a field, on a mountaintop, looking at a beautiful sunrise or sunset, or creating in your own lives something that expresses beauty. All of this is God speaking.

These communications, what you experience in this group, are only a portion of what God says, for God’s presence is transmitted at moments like these into words. This is merely a transformation of the energy of the Spirit Center. At this time, at this place, words are direct, but you do not have to hear words or feel words to hear God’s speech. You merely have to be open, and you have to find moments for quiet, moments for reflection.

Those moments may not come screaming at you with extraordinary insight. That is not necessary. Those moments of peace and being alone provide a sense of the infinite, a sense of your being a part of a spirit continuum, a continuity of awareness, a continuity of life. The life we speak of is not just human life, but awareness, some kind of recognition that there is creation, and that the result of that creation is that something exists. The earth exists. The planets exist. The stars and galaxies exist. The universe as you understand it exists, but there are universes that also exist beyond your awareness.

Life continues. There is no time, no moment, no instant that can or will occur when there is nothingness. When you allow yourselves the peace that you seek, and just be in a moment of awareness that things, human beings, other creatures, other forms of life exist, you will be hearing the voice of God.

God listens as well—not in a human sense. As you have observed, God is not sitting somewhere and listening to each individual, but God is a Spirit Center that is responsive to all that occurs. When you ask God for help, when you express the need for peace, for balance, for health, for wisdom, those requests do not, so to speak, fall on empty ears, but those requests are felt in loving energy by the Spirit Center, by God, by Allah, Yahweh, by any designation humans assign.

God hearing is a kind of sensitivity that what exists matters, that what exists is indeed consequential. Nothing that exists is without meaning. Nothing is unimportant. Nothing is random. There are no accidents. All that is exists with purpose, and therefore all is connected.

Because of the connection of all that is, when there is pressure applied to one component, the energy of the pressure is transmitted throughout. This means, in effect, that everything you do has a resonance. It means everything you think has a resonance. It means every kind of energy you emit has resonance. If you are dedicated to what is good and positive and uplifting and supporting, then all that exists is impacted by that. If you have negative thoughts—thoughts of antagonism, thoughts of overwhelming fear, thoughts of overwhelming disbelief in the existence of the Spirit Center—those negative energies radiate outward and impact all that is.

Since everything is united, everything is affected by everything else. You feel this most personally when those you love are experiencing pain and suffering. Your sharing of that pain and suffering is clear and real. You don’t have to feel that pain to understand what pain is. If you are with someone who is constantly critical of those nearby, you feel that negative energy. You feel that it pulls you down. Likewise, if you are surrounded by someone who seeks to find what is good, what is whole, what is healing, what is loving, you are uplifted by that individual, even when you do not share the grounds for such joy. You are lifted by it.

God as a listening God is a God of all creation that feels all that is being experienced in that creation. But God also acts. There is a response. It is not just a response of God speaking or God hearing. You spoke of synchronicities in your gathering. That is direct evidence of the actions of God, the impact of the Spirit Center that radiates outward to all. God’s response is not a response of supplication. It is a response of love, of caring. It is a response of energy that is directed to establish balance in life.

When you pray for God’s response, you are indeed praying for balance. Balance in creation is a natural tendency. It is an energy that is undeniable, but that balance is not a constant state of inaction. On a scale when items are weighed and they are balanced, the scale does not move. But when they are out of balance, there is motion. Life’s direction is always toward balance. It is always moving toward equilibrium. But that motion, that direction of life, is only possible because there is lack of balance.

You are healed because you have experienced illness. You are given joy because you have come out of sadness. You are illuminated because darkness exists. You seek peace because there is no total peace. You seek God because you do not have perfect vision of God. You seek love because you do not feel fully embraced in love. You are aware of what is missing, and it is that which you seek.

All in God’s creation has purpose. Purpose is direction. Purpose is the move toward fulfillment. Purpose is a direction toward that which is missing. Human beings are aware of God because human beings are aware of what is out of balance. The religions in the world have grown and developed in response to the seeking of balance. If all were in complete balance, there would be no seeking taking place. No religions would be created. No belief systems would be established. God’s action, therefore, is an energy that takes creation from the shadows into the brilliant light.

Your human lives began as innocent beings. In your growing maturity you become aware of what seems out of balance, and that awareness leads to your own actions—actions not taken separate from others, but collectively. Humankind moves forward toward God for the simple reason that humankind wants to move forward toward God. Humankind recognizes the darkness and also sees the light, and it is in finding that light that full balance is achieved. You seek a greater understanding of God because you feel you have less than a full understanding, and it is in your collective seeking, across humankind, that humankind becomes more godly.

Each of you is aware of what you would characterize traditionally as evil, and you tend to see life as a competition between good and evil. The natural course of God’s creation is the move to what is good, to what is loving, to what is kind. It is not a descent into all that you perceive as darkness, negativity, more suffering, more pain.

As each society tries to define itself, each group sees that definition differently and therefore responds to those goals in different manners. Those differences create much of the tension and strife, and yet in their own ways each is seeking the Truth with a capital T. Each religion, each society pursues what it perceives to be its destiny, but the one destiny that is common with all is the destiny of becoming love. How you get there, what path you take, may seem in opposition to others, but in acknowledging the validity of what motivates others, if not the actual actions themselves, you will become more deeply aware of your common relationship, and that awareness of commonality is an integral part of God’s actions.

These characteristics we describe of speaking, listening, acting seem very anthropomorphic, but in our description we hope you understand that these characteristics go far beyond what you see as human-like. They become profound because each of these three characteristics belongs to the entirety of creation in your universe and in all universes.

Be still; you will hear God speak. Be still, and you will understand what it means to reach out to God. Be still, and you will find evidence of God’s actions. Witnessing all three affirms your place in the totality of God’s creation. Give value to all, all that you see. Give value to your thoughts. Give value to all that you say. Your words, your thoughts, and your actions have a resonance that impacts all of creation.

Be loving, for in so doing creation is enhanced. Be loving in what you do, and avoid being critical of what others don’t do. And in the process of becoming loving you will ultimately be the love you seek.

You are blessed in that love. You are blessed in your loving.

Amen.
