• Space, distance, and infinity

• Guides and God are within and around humans

• The unity and interdependence of all that exists

God speaks to you through God’s unique communication to all souls. God’s presence is with you as it is with all who share the blessing of human life.

Your guides also share in your life force. We are all bathed by the brilliance of God’s presence. We have referred to that brilliance on many occasions, a brilliance which is quite visible to us. But it is also true that you can experience that same brilliance although in different form.

There are times when you are highly sensitive to God’s nearness. You are aware acutely of the presence of an enormous spiritual presence, an enormous spiritual warmth, a sense of overpowering closeness. But you experience many times when that presence, that brilliance is not so visible. Whether you feel the presence or are aware of its absence or apparent absence, God is nevertheless as close to you as to us. There is no real distinction in terms of God’s presence for us or for humans. The only difference is in the matter of perception. The presence is the same.

There are no individuals who experience human life who are any closer or further away from God in comparison with others. All share the same closeness. In terms of relating your lives to the presence of God, there is no such thing as distance. It cannot be measured. It cannot be identified in any way.

We do not see God as a distant and powerful strong light. We see that power and strength as all-encompassing. It is entirely within us and around us. Warmth and strength are also entirely within you and around you. Indeed, your guides are within you and around you. There is no distinction of place that defines you, us or God.

We have spoken on numerous occasions about the function of time as you understand it but the true absence of time as we experience it. But it is important for you also to understand the concept of space, distance, measurable proximity, and the actual lack of such space. In human life there is a visible distance that is observed by all, but if you think for a moment that all life-forms are merely varieties of energy, and that the continuum of energy is one single unit, what you perceive is really far from reality. The reality is all is one. That means there is no real distance between you and another human being. It means there is no real distance between you and us or between you and God, between our existence and God. All exist together.

The implications of this are enormous, for if there is nothing which separates you from anything else that has been created, then you are all ultimately in your own ways responsible for the totality of life. You are responsible for the betterment of others; they are responsible for your growth. You are responsible for the atmosphere of peace or the destruction of that atmosphere. You are responsible for all that is positive in life, and you are responsible for what is negative in life. You are responsible for joy as well as sadness. The joy of others you can experience, but you can also experience the sadness of others. To the extent that you are willing to accept your participation in all these emotions, these events, these approaches and philosophies, you are exercising your awareness of unity, a unity that characterizes all that is created.

There is an energy which connects everything together. There is no edge to this energy. You might think of it as if it were a ball that had no surface, because a surface defines a place where there is something lying beyond the ball. Life is not that kind of existence. There is nothing which lies beyond life. There is nothing which has not been created. What God has created is totally encompassing. There are no limits. There is nothing that exists that can be characterized as totally empty. There is no emptiness. There is no existence of what you would call “nothing.” Everything exists.

We understand that this is a difficult concept, for it is beyond human understanding to perceive that there is no edge; there is no defining point that indicates creation as opposed to no creation. It requires an understanding of infinity, and that cannot be fully perceived.

What we want you to understand, however, is the importance of the interdependence of all. We say you are responsible for everything. We do not mean by this that you are given obligations which must be fulfilled. Responsible means you are able to respond. You are able to be a part of the common energy of life. It means you are sensitive to life around you. You do not live outside the realm of the lives that characterize those you come in contact with. You are not independent from others. Others are not really independent of you. You do not always see your connection with others, but we see it. That is the difference of perception. We see that interconnectedness, and therefore we are aware of the fact that there is no such thing as distance, as distance implies separation. With no separation, there is no distance. You are all part of the same unit.

Because you share a common existence with all, it is important for you to look for ways that you can respond. We often urge you to reach out to others through prayer, through your actions, through compassion. These are just examples of your being sensitive to the completeness of life. You pray for another, not because that other individual is somehow separate from you. Rather, you pray for the whole entity. You pray for the health, the growth, the warmth of all creation. This is why we say when you pray for another, you are being strengthened spiritually. It is not some kind of action that God bestows upon you because you pray for another. It is merely the recognition that another individual is an extension of yourself, and you are an extension of others. There is no difference between you and any other human being.

You speak often of the equality of human beings. All are equal. All are equal not because it has been mandated or deemed so. You are all equal because you are all the same unit.

You are always urged to be aware of the needs of others and to respond as is appropriate. When we observe your awareness of others’ needs, we see your awareness of the unity that you share with others. We see your recognition of the sameness of all people. We see an affirmation of the commonality of life. We do not see a division of individuals. You pray for those who suffer, those who suffer in silence and those whose suffering is observed. You are really praying for the health of the union, for the strength of the unit. You are all related.

The world could truly achieve peace if everyone understood this interconnected relationship among all people, indeed among the entirety of creation. If you accept this union of all that has been created, then you have respect not only for individuals; you respect the environment in all of its manifestations because you are aware of your connectedness with the environment. The environment is an extension of yourselves and you are an extension of the environment.

There is such a beautiful vision of this entire creation. It is a vision that we see clearly. We are aware of it with full clarity. There is nothing that clouds our vision of this unit to which we all belong. Our stages of spiritual development at the conclusion of human life are really merely extensions of your own development. We are not separated. God is a part of that creation, and therefore God is not separated. You are intimately connected to the water, to the sky, the rocks, the beaches, the mountains, to all your brothers and sisters. How we wish that you could put into practice a full understanding of this union of which we speak. Creation is indeed beautiful. It changes, it evolves, it is fluid, so to speak, and incredibly beautiful.

When you find yourself filled with anger or anxiety, you are focusing on the false image of separateness. You are engaged in the employment of energy that tries to remove you from this union of creativity, and that is fruitless and ultimately unsuccessful. It only creates tension and anxiety, fear—all of those characteristics that you associate with being negative and that run contrary to God’s creation. When you feel anxiety, you feel separateness. You may feel somehow out of control, as if there are forces beyond your control that may do you harm emotionally, physically, spiritually. Nothing is out of your control. It is you who can decide to be in harmony with your lives, to work constructively for the spiritual enhancement of all that is around you.

Certainly you cannot change the direction of the world as an individual, but your response to the challenges you face in life will be according to God’s wishes if they are guided, if your responses are guided by a conviction of unity. You can disagree with another. You may even feel anger, but there is no way you can separate yourself from any other individual. You must focus on what binds you together. You must focus on what connects you to your environment.

The true objective of any peace is unity. War is a force that tries to separate. It never unifies. It never solves the ultimate needs for common understanding. Compassion is an expression of your unity with another. You cannot feel compassion toward someone for whom there is no value in your eyes. Recognizing your union, your membership in this entire community of creation, you cannot accept a lack of compassion that denies the truth. Compassion is a recognition of truth. It is never a denial.

Prayer is an exercise of your recognition of the truth of unity. When we pray for your spiritual growth, we are acknowledging that your growth and our growth are infinitely bound together with no concept of space to separate us, no parameter of time that can create anxieties. Patience is an affirmation of unity. You are patient with another when you accept that you and another are bound together. You can only experience impatience when you are trying to focus on the separateness of your life and of that other entity that causes the impatience. Recognizing true unity, there is no room for impatience.

The point here is that your acceptance of this seemingly unfathomable truth of the completeness of this creation as a single unit is essential for your spiritual growth. Your acceptance of this unity allows you to move through life with peace, with a sense of purpose that is bound on the principle of affirmation and mutual strength-giving. Love is an affirmation of that unity, regardless of which type of love you wish to think of. Actions of love affirm the reality of a union that binds you and everything else together.

It is God who has created this enormous, all-encompassing unit that has no edges, that has no defining line beyond which there is nothing. It is for each of you to accept this reality, difficult as it is to imagine. But in accepting this principle, you are well on your way to living lives which are godly, living lives that serve as the hands and feet and eyes and heart of God.

You are all a part of the body of God, and that should give each of you joy, strength and courage. We affirm your joy and give you strength, and we rejoice in that courage.
