• Multiple manifestations of a soul
• Spirit is eternal and evolving
• No time in the Now
• What God creates serves to expand what God creates
The God to whom you pray responds as always with a caring and creating, loving presence. Each of you, indeed all people, are recipients of that love, that caring, creative energy permeating your very existence.
We know that what was shared in your most recent message from us was filled with much that is new and much that shall take time to become a vital part of what defines and enlightens each of you. The question of a previous life that was part of the reality of many is a difficult concept to fully embrace. There are those who sense a brief glimpse of another form of their life, but for most human beings any thought of a previous form of life and its impact on the lives you are currently aware of becomes a discussion that may seem more academic than one based on known truths.
We can say with absolute knowledge and truth that your human form of life is composed of many different transformations. These transformations can be considered in human terms as being something of the past, but we see these transformations as a continuation of the present, because the spirit essence which is part of your lives is a continuation. Your essence is something which has existed only in the Now. It is not a reality of something that was and is now a fact. It is something that has always been present.
Part of that spiritual presence is an attachment, a connection, with human energy forms, but that spirit essence that belongs to all people has always existed, because that is a part of the connection that all human beings have with the creative center, God, as you identify it. You exist as human beings because you exist in spirit form simultaneously. Your life as spirit is continuous. It brings with its presence an awareness of its own experiences, its own realities, its own sensitivities. These experiences, realities, and sensitivities are manifested in many ways, your human life being only one of those ways.
It does happen that there are elements of your human experience that interface with elements of other manifestations of your soul. When those intersections occur, there may be a faint or even stronger recognition, a feeling of connection, that your own life consists of more than the life that you are aware of currently. As was mentioned earlier in this gathering, you are all part of a continuum.
Human life as you know it has a beginning and a conclusion, but the spirit that is accompanying your human life has no beginning, no conclusion. It simply is, and that process of being is accompanied by the constant process of evolving. It is indeed that evolving that is what we refer to when we say there is no time, it is all in the present, because it is all in the growth, the expansion, the deepening of your spirit. That is constant. That is the Now.
You may like to think of the analogy of being on a journey. At times you find yourself in one location, but you also experience life in another location. Viewed in its entirety, it is simply you traveling along your own pathway. You are the consistent element, occasionally accompanied by one manifestation of life, occasionally accompanied by another, but these manifestations all belong to your experience of growth, your journey.
We speak often of your pathway. The journey that you take is your own, and it is on occasion that your pathway intersects with the journey that another has taken, but you are still on your journey and others are still on their own journey. The intersections occur, but you are still you. You are still a single entity. You are the continuum of your own manifestation of God’s energy.
The concept of time for human beings has its place, of course, for it organizes your experiences. It measures your growth. That measurement is not absolute. The yardstick is not consistent. You may apply one system of measurement. Someone else will apply a different system of measurement for your growth. They are two different ways of seeing the same thing, and yet both are described in terms of time, because such description has meaning for the individual who holds that belief. There is no consistency between one person’s perception and another’s, and since those yardsticks are different, one cannot assume that somehow, in some form or another, there is a kind of cosmic yardstick, a standard for measuring what is observed.
Time has its purpose because it gives meaning and relevance to the individual who is governed by that yardstick. In your own experiences, there are moments when each of you has felt time has flown by. Each of you has experienced events where time, as you define it, seems to have been nearly unlimited in its length. When you are in personal, emotional, or physical pain, your sense of time passing is much different than when you are occupied with something that is joyous and yet seems fleeting.
From our perspective of living in a purely spiritual form of energy, that discrepancy that we speak of in the perception of time invalidates its ultimate importance. We could say that time does not exist, but it does not exist because time is relative. If it exists, it can be identified. In some way it can be described. There can be a kind of circle drawn around it where one can say “this is time,” but that is not the case. We say there is no time because there is no consistent definition of what time is. We say there is spiritual presence. We say there is a Now that is descriptive of spirit because that is all there is. We cannot say there was a time before your spirit or that there is a time after your spirit. Your spirit simply is, and it evolves.
The reality of the Spirit Center, the reality of God, is as you have heard often that simply God Is. We don’t say and you don’t say that God is now but God didn’t used to be. You don’t say God is now but there comes a moment when there is no more God. You simply say God Is. Because you exist as a part of God, we can say that your spirit is, not was or will be—is. And part of the “is” component must be an understanding that along with being, there is an accompanying character of becoming, of evolving.
Does this mean that God is in the process of becoming? Does it mean that God is not simply fully evolved? God evolves. The power of creative love evolves. It becomes stronger. It becomes more widely influential. How? In part, God’s presence increases because of you. What God creates serves to expand what God creates. You are part of that creative energy. You are not simply a consequence of that energy. You can see evidence of that. You can see evidence of an evolving of energy as manifested through knowledge, through understanding, through the sacrifices that you make on behalf of another. If you were not to reach out to another, that energy that comes from the reaching out would be denied, but in the reaching out you are increasing the energy of spirit, and that increase in the energy of spirit is an increase in God’s presence.
We have said that human beings can be the hands, the eyes, the heart of God, and that each of you plays a role in God’s presence. That you understand, but it is because you’re playing that role, it is because of your exercise of creative love towards others, that God’s love is brought to a higher level of creation. You have heard it said that you, all of you, are God. It does not mean each of you has within you all the creative power that is in the Spirit Center, but you all are part of that creative power.
The hand is part of the body. It is not the full body, but without the hand, the body is in some way incomplete. It is therefore because of you, because of human presence, it is because of the presence of other life-forms, whether or not they know God, that God’s presence becomes an even stronger reality.
You are connected, all of you, because of this creative, loving energy. When you reach out in support of another, that outreach is a strengthening of God’s energy. It is not merely a reflection of it, for in the reaching out, you are creating, you are transforming, you are changing and evolving that energy that is at the center of spirit, of God.
You belong to one another. You belong to others whom you have never met. You belong to others whom you know well, but that belonging is the present. That awareness of others is a way of strengthening that energy that connects, that identifies the grand unity of all that is.
Human beings do not live alone. Nothing that exists exists alone. There is not the smallest particle that somehow exists independent of all else. There is a relationship. That relationship may not be visible. It may not even be felt by you, but that relationship is present. That relationship governs what it is you experience.
As you continue to create with a loving, compassionate, giving, belonging energy, remind yourself of this interconnectedness. Remind yourself that your human experience, although temporary, is accompanied by what is permanent. What you are in the human sense of Now is connected to what is and always remains, what always is.
Your lives connect to human beings. Your lives connect to animate and inanimate objects that cross your paths. Your lives are connected to what always is. It is through that connection that you draw true strength and that you gather clear meaning to your experiences.
The journey that you take is your journey. The stops along the way are merely parts of the same journey, and it is you who experience that journey. All of the stops, all of the events, all of the relationships are a part of what is.
Approach your lives feeling the connection to what is constantly present. Feel that you can draw strength from what is. Feel that you can experience the impact of love from God Is, and acknowledge that all that you experience in life belongs to this reality of the loving presence that surrounds each of you, the Spirit Center, the God Who Is.
Amen.
