Inspired Wisdom For Your Life

• The most effective ways of supporting another

• You are one with God and with all that has been created

God, who created the Spirit Center, who is also a part of the Spirit Center, is with you always.

You are concerned about how to serve in a godly way as a reflection of God to life around you. It was asked how to be supportive of those in great need. How do you serve the presence of God for those who experience an agony that cries out for such presence? The call outward to God is often a subconscious outcry, clothed essentially in fear, fear of the consequences of actions taken outside of one’s control.

To be responsive as part of God’s presence, what is of greatest importance is simply the recognition of the need to reach out, to embrace, to uplift, to encourage, to provide comfort. Each of these actions of God takes on many possible characteristics.

In the case of the person who has been mentioned as being in need of special support, the most important, the most profound means of offering help is the expression of love and assurance of being present in prayer. It is not a matter of saying, “Everything will be fine,” for how is that to be defined? What does fine mean? If it is offered without the firm knowledge of the most likely outcome, it is a kind of empty offering.

The most effective way of supporting another is expressing what you do know, expressing what is true. Expressing your love is a statement of truth. It is not a false prediction of an outcome.

No one who anticipates a major procedure feels totally confident. All feel in some way alone, if not isolated. Responding to that ache of inner loneliness by expressing your loving presence fills much of that gap, for no one wishes to be totally alone. There is much that one can do to support another in ways that another may not be fully aware of, and yet they are in truth helpful. Praying for a peaceful approach to a somewhat threatening moment will have its impact. It will be a different kind of impact than words that are expressed. It is always helpful when possible to be present physically, for in expressing love for another in a support that comes from that love, even the simple act of physical touch and the expression of loving support is a powerful way to provide peace.

When one faces difficult procedures, what one responds to is what is offered openly, personally, and sincerely. A patient approaching such events does not necessarily feel there is no risk and that all is just routine. The anxiety, the fear arises out of uncertainty. The only way to serve others through the heart is through an honest expression of your own support, your own love. You speak of what you know, for you are speaking from who you are. It is that gesture of connection which provides so much comfort.

You pray for the soul of someone you have suddenly lost with little warning. We can assure you that her transition to our plane of life is smooth and filled with a light and warmth and comfort of pure love. There is always a need to adjust to a greater vision of reality, but hers is a position of strength, and her journey will continue to be smooth and warmed by the spirits of those whom she has loved.

Our last message to you was offered because you are in a place in your development spiritually where we can present a glimpse of a reality about God that is considerably beyond your current vision. We share this because it is important to understand that a clear vision of God evolves, develops, and becomes more complete through the journey from human life or other nonhuman lives to spirit life. Indeed, we can say that as we grow in our heart vision, the view of the Creator and an understanding of the created reality expands greatly. No human being fully grasps the vastness of God, and it is only through our own development in spirit form that we come to understand that presence more fully.

We do now realize that the Creator of the reality of what is referred to as the Spirit Center also belongs to the Spirit Center. The Creator and the created are one. You and your neighbor are one. You and all that exists are one, and since there is a unity that characterizes all that has been created, it is also important that you know there is a unity between the Creator and all that has been created.

It is because of this absolute singleness that we say so often that you are God because you are part of God as is everyone. It is not a statement of arrogance but an affirmation of a loving truth. We constantly emphasize your unity with all others, and because all are related and contain within them the essence of God, your connection to God is immediate. There is no delineation that separates the reality of God from your own reality.

Just as a toe that is injured is a part of the body, you are a part of God. The body is complete because it includes the toes. God is complete because of the inclusion of you. God is complete because of the inclusion of all that has been created. That unified presence of God and the Spirit Center grows in its strength as you grow. Its loving presence expands through your loving presence. As you reach out to another with love, it is God who is reaching out, for without you, without all that exists, without the energy connecting all that exists, there would be no meaning to God. The Creator exists through its own creation. The Creator, therefore, is always part of the creation.

You cannot separate a painter from the painting. The painting has its impact, but that impact would not exist were it not for the painter. It is because of the presence of the painter that the painting is there. It is a kind of spirit of the painter infused into the artwork. You can see the artwork; you can feel it; you can touch it. There are many ways you could interact with the art, but in your interactions with that piece of art, you cannot really separate yourself from the creator of the piece. The art doesn’t just simply exist. The art is an extension of the artist, and when you appreciate and value the art, you’re acknowledging and embracing the presence of the artist.

In the same way, it is in finding ways of appreciating another that you begin to recognize the presence of the Creator. It is by acknowledging another that you acknowledge God. The connection you have with another is because there is a God, for it is through God that a connection exists at all. It is through God that a connection to a Spirit Center exists.

The God to whom you pray is not some theoretical concept of energies that exist between items that are created. It is far greater. The love that you feel toward others exists because of God’s presence, even when that presence is not acknowledged. Without that presence, the energy of love would not exist.

You are all part of God, and it is always a challenge for human beings to understand what that truly means. When we urge you to love unconditionally, that means breaking down the barriers between you and God. When you acknowledge God’s presence in another, the barriers between you and the other are gone, for you are, in fact, acknowledging the true oneness that actually exists.

Often, we refer to God’s presence in a kind of human expression, for that is what is most readily accepted and understood by humans. It is a statement of fact, but the complexity of that statement far exceeds the simplicity of its expression. There is no need to fret over the ultimate meaning and implications of all that is shared about God. It suffices when you acknowledge that God is always present, and that presence defies full definition in human terms. We could say simply, “Accept this reality on faith,” and when reality exceeds your understanding, keep that faith. Allow the mystery to be there.

Engage in whatever way you can in opening your heart vision, looking for ways to be present to another in need, looking for ways to be grateful for journeys shared with another. Part of the power of being supportive is expressing one’s gratitude. That expression is not just through words. It can be through touch. It can be through prayer. It can be through an acknowledgment of love.

Be grateful for your relationships. Be grateful for the presence of those you love. Be grateful for ways you can show love toward another, and be honest in your expression of love. Be honest in your efforts to be present. Be honest with your own journey, recognizing that the beauty of the journey is not the end of the journey but rather the process. If you wish to be supportive of another, engage in the process lovingly and be less concerned about how it might fall upon another. If you express your love honestly, that is enough, for that is all that is necessary.

Consider your life as a wave that ebbs and flows. At times your life is the recipient of the love of others, and at other times your life offers that love. Life is not static. It does flow. It evolves. You are not standing still on your journey. You are moving toward greater understanding, greater awareness, greater vulnerability, greater appreciation, greater love.

Find strength from your journey. Find strength as you reach out. Find strength as others reach out to you. Give thanks always for the loving exchanges that accompany your life journey.

Amen.
