Language of God and spirit.
July 5, 2018
It is God who speaks to each of you. We, your guides, essentially focus your spirits on the presence that is always there. You have a chief guide, but you have a collection of countless guides who serve to open all people to an awareness that there is a power of creative energy that exists beyond their capacity to fully grasp. We communicate with you not by forming our special words in a kind of dictation.
We communicate with you in a way that opens your spirits which in turn speak to each of you. God speaks; God speaks always. It is not for you to invite God’s presence into your midst but rather for you to be open to the presence that is there. Being open to that presence means being open to what God says, for God does not speak in a particular language. We do not speak in a particular language. Languages are the creation of humans, not of God.
So how is it that you know God’s presence? How is it that you are guided to make this decision or that decision, to behave this way or to behave in another way?
The language of God is the language of your own spirit, your own soul. It is through the language of your spirit, your soul, that you come to understand more of the significance of life and the nature of all that is created.
God is love, but how is that love described? You can describe it only in human terms—physical, emotional, social love—but those many kinds of love are seen through a single lens, the lens of human life. You already know that love of God, love coming from God, belonging to God, is more than humans can fully comprehend, but this does not mean the intensity of that love is greater than human comprehension. Rather it means the expression and the power of God’s love is far beyond the human being’s limitations that are placed on it by the very effort to identify and characterize that love.
Love is not just a power, an emotion. It is an energetic presence. Out of love comes healing. For some, that healing is physical. For others, it is perceptual. It is about experiencing compassion. It is about the giving of oneself in some form or another. It is about sacrifice. It is about commitment.
Love is what created your own galaxy and universe, but love has created more universes, and not just universes of stars but universes of identified energy sources, energy characteristics. The universes created by God are not even measurable. They are beyond a theoretical understanding of their possible existence. The universes we speak of are created, so to speak, from the laws of love, not the laws of physics.
Humans will never fully understand the implications of those other universes, for there are many that exist even within each of you. Universe does not have to be a physical space that is examined, studied, and postulated over. These are universes of feeling, of caring, of understanding. There are universes that exist only in a spiritual realm, not a physical realm. There are many dimensions to what love actually is, but you live in a physical world, in a physical universe, that is governed by physical principles, many of which are observable either in theory or in actual practice.
The love that exists that we help in opening you to is a love that is characterized fully apart from all that you associate with that term. So when you pray that God intervenes in a situation to make things “right” as you may define that, you are opening yourselves through the act of prayer, not through the words of prayer, not through the common practice of prayer, however it may be exercised. You can pray with no words. You can pray symbolically by opening your hands and inviting to your innermost selves the love that exists. That is sufficient.
Many religions of the world have codified or standardized the function, the very appearance, of prayer. For many, such practices bring what is far beyond human perception into an entity that takes on almost human characteristics. There are many religions that have traditional images of what God might look like. There are religions that refuse to make any images of God. There are religions that don’t use a term for a single entity of any kind, and yet they believe in the existence of a power, in the existence of an energy beyond what they know.
The power of prayer is extraordinary, not because you are asking God to act, but because you are enabling your spirit to be open, to be one with the universes, one with nature, one with others. Each of you in your life has asked God to step in, to intervene, to change things. You’ve asked God to give you strength, perseverance, sensitivity. You’ve asked God how to be more loving. There are countless attributes that are included in what you ask of God, but every one of those responses you ask from God are actually your own responses, for they are responses associated with your own spirit. God acts in your lives because you act in your lives. It is by your actions that others may come to see or feel that long-sought presence.
We say so frequently you are the arms and ears and eyes and touch of God. We say “you” meaning collectively you are all these things, because without your collective engagement, no action that could be interpreted as God’s action can be fully recognized.
There are of course times when you must be receptive to God’s speaking in your life and times when you are strengthened by the love of others. It is not necessary at all times for you to be giving of yourself again and again and again. It is fully appropriate for you to step back and be ministered to through the loving attention, the loving guidance, the loving presence of others.
You become the voice of God when you have experienced the voice of God. When you know firsthand from your own senses that God was there, you are able then to be God’s hand, God’s voice, and God’s conscience.
Yes, you can speak against injustice and intolerance. You do so because you believe that is what is right, that is what gives dignity to others. You are at that moment the hands, the feet, the heart, and the eyes of God.
You seek to learn. You express to one another the desire to understand, to make sense of the true meanings of our communications to you. Your understanding must change as you change. We can express to you deep principles that are shared by all, but you need to experience them yourselves. You need to become what it is you have experienced. You need to become what it is that you give. You don’t give blindly, but you give of yourself. Generosity of spirit is not patronizing of another.
Generosity of spirit is knowing that you and another are a single entity. You and another belong to one another just as the left arm and the right arm belong together. You are united.
When you seek God, you will find that presence not out in the ether in some kind of heaven above you. You find God within. You ask for guidance. You begin to feel what is appropriate, what is positive. You ask how to serve others, but to serve others you must first hear others, because in the hearing you accept what they are truly asking for.
You are the voice of God when you listen to what is inside you. God speaks when you speak from within. It is not just words you imagine, but it is a commitment to the flow of energy working through you and given meaning by the presence of your guides.
As was shared in your gathering, life is precious. Even in the heights of despair, there are moments and experiences that are special, sacred, and godly. Those moments are always there. We ask that you try to find the sacred in the secular. Find what is sacred in the actions of those with whom you stand in strong disagreement. Find ways of recognizing that there is a spark of God within each of you. There is no human being that is filled with a flame when there is another filled merely with a spark. What you all contain within you is equal. It is the same. How you manifest what is within is different as it should be, but the core, the life that exists in the universes that are within echo all that God speaks.
We bless you with all that God speaks. We open you to God speaking through each of you. We empower you to hear God speaking from all directions and from all of creation.
Amen.
