Live what you wish for.

As you know, God holds your spirits in a loving embrace that is comforting, that is strength-giving, and that points the way for each of you. As we, your guides, have so often emphasized, your paths are very different, one from another, and yet despite those differences, you find ways of joining together, being together, and supporting each other in innumerable ways. 

This combining of different directions into a meaningful whole in which all of you can walk is an example of what humankind is capable of doing on a massive scale. No, you are not perfect, as you know. No, humankind is not perfect, as you know. But sharing objectives and finding common grounds and common goals is what actually brings you together. 

You share this time, not because your daily activities are identical, but you are all seekers—seekers of truth, seekers of an understanding of God, seekers of the meaning of spirit, seekers of the importance of life. You are seekers of how best to manifest what life can mean. It does not mean any of you have found the answers to all that you seek, but in your seeking and in your commitment to seek, your vision is vastly widened. 

So it can be with humankind. There are many threads that can be represented by the interests and concerns, the goals and objectives of many corners of humankind. But those threads can be woven together so that the tapestry that results creates a new reality of its own. The thread is not the tapestry, and the tapestry is not just the individual threads. But the tapestry is the weaving together to make sense, to have purpose, to tell a story, to provide a form of beauty and understanding that would be impossible through the existence of a sole strand of fiber. 

There is a story to be told of humankind, and that story is a story of evolution, a story of growing awareness of what is meant by caring, by loving, by accepting, and what is meant by burying the ego and raising the value of all else. You are a part of this tapestry of humanity. Indeed, what you understand of the nature of God and the nature of God’s love consists of only a few filaments of the grand tapestry that moves ever closer to being all that God is. 

You seek this understanding, this growth, and there are others who do the same. Each group, each individual, each collection of spirits that look for a loving understanding of what God is are part of that grand tapestry. The purpose of that tapestry of All That Is is the unifying of that existence. The tapestry brings all into a full union with God. This is a process. It is a blending, a melding of what is different in order to create what is fully spirit.

The threads that create this tapestry are not always continuous. There are longer threads and shorter threads. There are wider threads and narrower ones. There are threads of every color and texture imaginable. There are threads that are strong. There are threads that are weak, but all are woven together, and all then create the essence of what God truly is. 

Without your own threads, the tapestry cannot be fully realized, for part of the tapestry is expansion. What is it that expands? Simply, it is love, and if you consider the essence of God as being love, then you can say that what the tapestry becomes is in reality the expansion of God. Yes, there is more to the reality of God at each moment, for you are part of that reality, but you become fully participant in that reality through your own spirit evolution. The love that is God, the power that is God, the good that is God broadens and expands. It deepens. It becomes more powerful, more allencompassing. 

God has no limits because God is not a physical entity, but God is composed in part by entities. These entities are spirit, and as spirits become all love, that presence of God is in every way expanded and becomes an even greater presence. 

Love can only do one thing. There is nothing else or it is no longer love. That one thing is that love grows. Love expands. Loves broadens out. Love reaches out. Love embraces. Love accepts. Love brings in. Love gathers. Love gives. Love receives. All are part of this growth. 

Love is not defined as an energy that is withheld, that is retracted, that is rejected, for if love is rejected, it is no longer love. If love judges, it is no longer love. You are not loving when you reject and cast away, for that is not how love is defined. Love exists only as it expands. You, in your own particular way, belong to that expansion, enhance that expansion, and give it character and depth and meaning. 

How does this figure into your concerns about community, state, region, country, nationhood, or the community of nations? It means that each of those entities is a part of what God is. Each of those entities must grow in order to expand God’s presence. The only way to feed and nourish the growth of love is by offering the love that you wish to see grow. If you wish for more tolerance, you must live tolerance. If you wish for more understanding, you must live understanding. If you wish for peace, you must live peace. If you wish for justice, you must live justice. If you wish for compassion, you must live compassion. If you wish for wisdom, you must live wisdom for that wisdom to grow, that compassion, justice, and acceptance to expand. 

By fretting and living with fear, that fretting expands, that fear expands. When you live with judgment, that judgment expands. When you live with distrust, you are promoting distrust in all forms. What can you do when you are worried about the state of life? Contribute whatever you can that expands what you seek, and do not allow what you most wish to avoid to be an excuse for not contributing. The progress you seek is never a straight line. There are inevitable ups and downs, but you can have a definite impact on how that progress is achieved when all that you say and do reflects in very direct ways what it is you seek. It does little good to talk about the need for greater understanding and yet not seek to be more understanding. It does little good to wish for more love and compassion and yet not experience such love and compassion in your own daily interactions with others. 

Therefore, you make a difference. You have an impact on everyone else. You will not change the course of history on your own, but you, in recognition of what you share that reflects your understanding of God, can indeed change the shape of what is to come and therefore redefine what others will later describe as history. There are times for you to be active. There are times for you to be more reflective. But whether active or reflective, it is your attitude, it is your approach that is of greatest importance, because that attitude can nurture your spirit, and together your spirit nurtures the evolution, the expansion of love, of God. 

You therefore impact God through your thoughts, for you impact the presence of God through those thoughts. You impact the reality of God through your own intentions. When your intentions uplift and embrace and affirm, then God’s power expands and in turn is more able to embrace and empower. You cannot measure your worth as human beings on the world’s stage on the basis of what you do but rather by what you truly believe in, for it is those beliefs that you hold that shape what you do, what you say, what you stand for. 

Each of you is blessed with God’s presence, and you bless that presence in your own way. It is a treasured relationship you have with God, for you are not just receiving God’s presence, but you are strengthening that presence. Accept this give and take. Accept what you receive from God. Accept what you give to God. Try to recognize what you receive, and try to recognize what you give, for both giving and receiving are part of the natural exchange of an expanding love. 

Be comforted by that love. Be comforted and challenged by your capacity to allow God and love to expand and nourish all that is good that you wish for, that you live for.
