Peace is the affirmation of equality.
May 15, 2025
It is the God of peace and reconciliation that surrounds you with a loving and caring presence that is far beyond what you can perceive.
There is such concern about what can be done to halt the suffering, what can be done to bring about more understanding of the dignity of others and less emphasis on the dominance of a few. You ask about what can be done to promote the possibilities for peace. The word that was used was being a “catalyst” for peace. As we mentioned in our previous message, an understanding of peace goes beyond an absence of war or a lack of political anger and posturing. As your guides, we know of your concerns about the betterment of others. You wish to see a cease to hostilities in many theaters around the world.
The truth about working for peace is to concentrate more on the means than placing specific requirements or a timetable on the ultimate objectives. For those objectives to be reached, a process must be engaged in that leads to those objectives. If you think of the analogy of sports, you may say, “We have to win the game.” But repeating that and thinking about winning without first being engaged in the process of playing the game places too much emphasis on the goal and not enough on the means to that goal.
As we address the issues of peace, it is more helpful to focus your attention on the process while also having faith in where the process can lead. The process by which a spiritual and ultimately humanitarian peace is achieved is more clearly understood and effectively activated on a more granular level.
All people have within them the capacity to understand. We addressed some of that in our last message, for understanding comes through listening. But we also understand and know in our heart vision that you are committed to a desire to move beyond listening, for the question that faces all human beings is “once there is an understanding through listening, what is the next step? What is the purpose of understanding beyond its own achievements?” Action and commitments of any kind can only be given life when there is a deeper understanding, because out of that understanding grows a commitment for some kind of action.
How is that action initiated, and what kinds of actions are the most effective pathways that will lead ultimately to the peace you speak of? Understanding is not a specific goal that must be reached before action is taken, for understanding grows incrementally. Your current understanding is whatever it is. No understanding is one hundred percent. You don’t achieve a full comprehension of everything impacting another or others. Your understanding evolves incrementally, but it is in the evolution of that understanding, and it is in accompanying that understanding that you gain insight about where to place your next step on the pathway.
These issues that concern you deeply are not monolithic. There are many layers. There are many approaches all of which have value in their own right. We could say very simply, and yet its application is complex, give of yourself as you are able to give of yourself. There is no way that is more beneficial than another, for all efforts contribute to the energy that leads to the peace that you seek. For some it is prayer, but prayer offered with the wish to understand more deeply what is truly needed. There are others whose response to their own understanding can give of themselves in many different ways.
There is, however, a considerable strength of spirit in working with others toward the same objectives. If you feel the means available to you is more specifically prayer, find others who share that same sense of mission and work together in prayer, for that prayer provides insight, as we have so often asserted.
You do not pray for God to take action. You pray that God’s strength may be yours to take whatever actions you can. The real goal of corporate prayer is corporate insight, and out of insight, growth and commitment.
There are others who feel their means of engagement is most effectively exercised by teaching, by sharing this information, not insisting on results but sharing the information, finding ways of expanding that sharing, sharing as a way of understanding more, not sharing to dominate. Growth in the efforts to promote peace must be achieved through many venues. There is no best way, but we can say that working in community adds strength, adds an energy that seeds individual efforts. If you believe education is an important venue for understanding as a pathway toward peace, there are many ways of enhancing that work in education, for education is nothing if it is not a sharing of current understandings but always being open to the ongoing process of understanding.
It is important in your insight into what is appropriate that you always focus your efforts not on what gives you the greatest sense of achievement but what enhances the dignity of others. Working for that dignity of others may not be identified specifically as leading to peace, but when you feel accepted, when your presence is recognized as having meaning, much of what contributes to a lack of peace falls into many impotent pieces, particles, and loses any impact.
Peace is a byproduct of feeling loved. It is a feeling that is achieved not by being told but rather by being shown. When you work to affirm the dignity of others, you are a catalyst for peace. When you listen to another nonjudgmentally, you are a catalyst for peace. When you devote your life to the growth of others, the affirmation of others, the health and well-being of others, you are working for peace. Achieving peace is only possible when approached from many pathways, some of which may appear on the surface to have nothing to do with the peace that you seek.
We have stated that peace is not the absence of war but the affirmation of equality. When there is an affirmation of equality, there are no grounds for war. You are, therefore, working not for the elimination of war but for the affirmation of all. War ceases to have any function when that affirmation becomes widespread.
We talk about peace as being a peace of spirit, and that peace of spirit is an affirmation of all that is. If you fully affirm the value of nature around you, there is no commitment to its destruction, for nature has value, importance, meaning, significance, and there is no motivation to destroy that reality. Too often we find human beings caught up in the commitment to eliminate the byproduct rather than to the creation of its means, the elimination of war rather than the affirmation of all. Real peace is affirmation. That affirmation is a spiritual expression of God’s presence.
You’re not told by your guides not to do something, to stop. That kind of finite limitation serves to suppress and not inspire. We may say that it is not good to be concerned only about self, but we don’t say to stop a realization of self. We say to uplift and embrace the other. Our perspective is one of encouraging the means rather than defining your objectives of human life as the cessation of something else. That is the charge from God that we exercise as guides. We are present in your life to affirm, not to forbid.
There is a misconception in many societies that God or the gods or deities of whatever description are essentially punitive in nature. If you don’t do this, the punishment is that. If you don’t do what we say is right, the punishment is eternal damnation. That is not a message reflective of God, for that would serve to change behavior out of fear rather than enhance behavior through inspiration and understanding. That is the whole direction of energy that we offer with the wish that your spirit may be uplifted and with a certainty that in that uplifting, it will ultimately become pure love. Our focus in your life is to illuminate and not discriminate, not punish, not forbid. We are engaged in the propagation of light, in the process of your becoming, and it’s that same engagement that we refer to when we describe a way towards peace in terms of the affirmation of all that is.
The route to peace is the actions of God, and it is you as a human being who give life to those actions. It is through human beings that God’s presence, God’s energy, God’s love is manifested toward others. If you wish to impact the growth of peace, then orient your life as we orient our presence in your life.
Despite the traditional teachings of many organized religious practices, there is no specific hell. There is no time when humans are damned either for what they have done or damned because they fail to hold certain beliefs. Restrictions are not the means of spiritual fulfillment. That sense of affirmation, of listening and responding as you can respond to the needs of others that they may be affirmed and strengthened and given value, that’s the path for true peace.
As long as human beings inhabit your planet, there will be those in power who think only of themselves at the expense of others, and that mindset will always result in tension and suffering. That is not to say that human beings are destined only to suffer, for that is not the truth. The truth is human beings will always have the capacity to reach out, and in reaching out, love is affirmed. It is not the absence of tension, the absence of suffering, but as a response, a loving response, to the tensions, the sufferings, the misunderstandings.
As you take into your being God’s teachings through many guides, your life will continue to serve as a means of moving toward the goal of peace. It will mean that the plays in the game have intention and purpose and benefit. It is not the final score that you seek. It is that rich giving interaction of those around you and all that exists around you in the game of life. It is giving meaning to all of that, filled with respect and graced by commitment that all belong. All are sacred. All are part of the creative force that is God.
Embrace God. Embrace all that you know to be part of God, and it is in that embrace that you serve as the catalyst to the peace of spirit which is God’s peace.
You are blessed in your searching. You are blessed in your efforts to affirm. You are blessed by love, and you are blessed through the love that you offer. Have faith in the meaning and purpose of the commitments you feel that uplift and affirm and embrace with love.
Amen.
