Your spirit grows through decisions made.

December 19, 2016

God accompanies each of you on your journeys. You are indeed with that Presence. You are, in fact, always in the company of the God that you recognize. For all who recognize a god by whatever name may be attached, there is an acknowledgment of a power, a presence that is greater than the individual, that is greater than the collection of all individuals. You are accompanied by all that are part of the God Presence.

This company of God’s presence includes your guides, includes your families, your friends—the spirits of all that share what it means to be alive. You are accompanied by that presence that is expanded to include all forms of spirit life, whether or not they have experienced the human form of life of which you are now aware. The accompaniment of God is not therefore the accompaniment of a single figure, but rather you are accompanied by all that has been created. You spoke this evening of the moon, the sunsets. Those are not human life-forms of course, but they speak to the presence of a creation beyond your world, beyond your own individual understandings.

The question of where we gain our inspiration that is then passed on to you can be answered very simply. As you recognize, we focus, we receive the presence of God, and we take that energy and refocus it to you. You, in turn, receive that focused energy and wisdom in your own ways. These messages are only one means of communicating to you. There is no great mystery about what we do, for there is no real mystery about love beyond the fact that it is. Love is. Love exists. Love is an energy. Love listens. Love gives and receives.

That is what we do. We communicate to each of you in love. You receive words. You receive inclinations, gut feelings as you call them. You receive insights. You receive a sense of belonging. You receive a sense of infinite beauty. You receive the feelings of awe, that there is something far greater and more significant than the details that occupy your daily lives. We communicate through love, for that is the only window and reflector that we possess. It is our window to God’s presence, and it is that reflector to your presence. There is no break in continuity. There is no break in the stream of love as it is expressed. We’re not a filter. We don’t take God’s wisdom, God’s love; we don’t take the creative energy of God and reduce it to what only you can comprehend. We transmit to you what God intends for you to learn, and it is your own spiritual essence that receives what we transmit and gives it life. Love exists, love is, and love must be expressed.

What we do is not a duty but rather an opportunity. It is the opportunity we have to assist what is sacred in each of you. There is effort of course, but it is effort freely given with the understanding that you may or may not necessarily be aware of that gift. We are here, we are with you, because we love you. We are here, we are with you, because the energy, the power of God’s love illuminates all of us—“us” your guides, “us” you. All receive the benefit of the accompaniment of love.

The question often arises about what it means to be certain you are on the path that you must pursue. It is true, you face, will face, and have faced challenges to your perception of what human life should provide. No human being traverses the path toward God void of questions, fears, and concerns about what is right or what is best or what is appropriate. That is part of what differentiates your life-form from ours. We are not filled with doubt or fear or anxiety. We are not consumed by a sense that somehow we are on the wrong path, for we see the direction that our path is leading us. We are in the process of becoming wholly God. You are in the process of becoming wholly God. The fulfillment of that objective is a concept for you, but it is a clear vision for us. We are in the process of that fulfillment, for we can see the goal. You are in the process but cannot clearly see the goal beyond an understanding that the goal is to become pure Love. You understand that goal, but the difference in vision between your life-form and ours is such that you will always have questions about whether the steps you take are the right ones to take.

Human beings learn from mistakes. There is a difference between living as one is told to live and living as one learns to live. We give you perspective. We give you some understanding, but it is for you to learn what it means to live and not merely be told how to live, for it is the learning process, it is the realization that decisions are made as they are made, and the consequences will be as they will be. That is the school of learning. That is the benefit of human life, for that learning nurtures the spirit. It nurtures your soul.

You live your life to grow, not to be blindly obedient. There are many who feel there is only one way to conduct human life. That belief is not realistic, and it is not wholly correct. Yet for those who hold those beliefs to be true, such beliefs can be like lighthouses in the foggy night. It is the direction to seek, and it is by following the light that it is felt that life has been lived well.

You grow, your spirit grows, and it learns through the decisions you make. You worry about making what you consider to be right decisions as opposed to wrong decisions. But keep in mind when you make what you feel to be a wrong decision, and you reflect back upon that decision, you have learned, and you have learned from your own experience, guided by the secure confidence that even what may be perceived as an incorrect decision at some point will still lead where it must lead, namely to becoming ultimately pure Love. Therefore, one can say no decision is ultimately a bad decision in terms of your own life path. By following instructions, the path may seem easy and somewhat uncomplicated, but the growth that is so necessary will not have been achieved.

There are many spirits who have been accompanied on their journey by the human presence in which that presence has sought only to follow what it has been told. It is common, then, that many of those spirits reenter human life-form in order to learn by making choices. This is in comparison with the spirits who often are associated with human lives filled with torment, filled with challenges, filled with questions and doubts, for those torments, questions and doubts ultimately must be grappled with, and it is in the grappling that the true learning of the spirit takes place. For many such souls, no choice is made to return to human form, for they have been strengthened. Their paths have been more clearly seen, paths that lead in the direction of pure Love. The person who is always assured of what must be done learns much less than those of you who wrestle with turning left or right or going straight ahead.

With prayer you cannot make a wrong choice. You will do what is appropriate at that point, at that moment, and when you look back, it may appear to be an appropriate move to have taken, or it may seem less so. Regardless, you have made the decision, and the act of deciding is the act that is strength-giving for spirit and gives ultimate value to human life. Therefore, don’t shy away from dilemmas of how to respond, what to do. Don’t succumb to fear of making a wrong decision, for there are no wrong decisions. What curtails the growth of spirit is a life devoted to the absolute certainty of its correctness.

These life lessons are to be learned by all, either in a current life experience or through subsequent human experiences. Each soul has its own needs, and therefore each soul will require different challenges. There are life-forms for whom the challenges of human existence are inappropriate. In those cases, the spirit accompanies the life in a very different form. Not all life of spirit must accompany life on your earth. There are countless other life-forms which serve to strengthen spirit and lead those spirits toward being all Love.

God is not a single entity, but God is the collection of all spirits who have become Love. Some of those spirits achieved being total Love not through the experience of human life. Each soul, each spirit, has different needs, and for some, those needs may be met in human life. For others, those needs may be met in different life-forms. It is not important whether part of what God is is the result of human life or nonhuman life. What is important is that all that God is is the collection of Love from all quarters.

Your experience of spirit, your experience of life, human life, is only one segment of the totality of Spirit with a capital S that becomes all Love with a capital L. Embrace your human life, not for its seeming perfection, but for its opportunity for your learning to enhance and give meaning and perspective to your soul. Embrace human life with a conviction that all paths are appropriate. Not all behavior is appropriate, but the behavior of individuals is part of what they are learning. By being nonjudgmental, you can view life beyond what fits into your own description of what meaningful life is and then embrace the reality of this infinite network of pathways through which all spirits become the Love that is God.

You are on your path. You are on the correct path. Be willing to acknowledge the rightness regardless of the challenges, regardless of the choices you must make, but confident that you, through your vision of God’s presence, will move in the most appropriate way on your journey to Love.

You are blessed with God’s presence.

You are blessed with the accompaniment of all that God is.

You are blessed in your comings and goings.

You are blessed in your friends.

You are blessed by the presence of all human beings.

You are blessed by the beauty, the strength of nature.

You are blessed when you fear that strength and when you rejoice in that beauty.

Rest in that comfort of being accompanied by God forever.

Amen.
